Description

The opportunity is for vibrant people who enjoy all that entails working with young people of various backgrounds and for those who are looking for experience within events.

Volunteers will assist with the running of events and activities, helping with the set-up, social media and marketing of the events, as well as running activities all day. Volunteers should be flexible as events and activities will take place during weekends and evenings.

Student Placements

Looking to get experience in a youth work setting? We are open to working with students who require to do a work placement as part of a Youth Work related degree. We have a partnership with UWS, speak to your programme leader or get in touch with us to find out more.

The Ayr Ark works towards three main aims: • Engaging with young people by running events and activities which address a variety of practical needs for young people whilst working in partnership with local organisation. • Equipping young people with the knowledge and understanding needed for building and developing their own life-skills and self-confidence in a supported environment. • Empowering young people with the experience and confidence to make wise and safe lifestyle choices and to take hold of a more positive future for themselves.

Travel details: The organization covers volunteer travel expenses post paid

Support

Expenses paid: Yes
Training details: Induction training is offered, revisited since new volunteers are being recruited post pandemic. Food hygiene is also provided and organisation tends to support the volunteers throughout the volunteering experience. In addition, the Youth Dynamic Award is also provided (10 years and over).

Join Young Scot's #YSEquity Panel and have your say on our services, making them fairer and more accessible for everyone. Project Information: - 11-18 years old (inclusive) - From April 2024 to March 2025 - Meeting every 6-8 weeks (a mix of online and in-person sessions) - Anywhere in Scotland - Travel costs covered What’s the YSEquity Panel about? Do you use your Young Scot National Entitlement Card to get on the bus, access the leisure centre or enjoy local discounts? Has it sometimes been tricky for you to get involved in things like school trips, sports clubs or art groups? Then this opportunity could be a great place to have your voice heard! We want young people aged 11-18 on our YSEquity Panel to help us improve our Young Scot services so they meet the needs of young people, are accessible to everyone and help tackle stigma. You’ll get the chance to share your experiences with education including any challenges you’ve faced being ready to learn and attending regularly. We’ll also try to offer you opportunities to meet decision makers in Scotland to share your thoughts on these topics too. The Panel will look at things like:   - Young Scot National Entitlement Card - Cost of the School Day - Access to education - Rewards - Local Discounts - Extra-curricular activities - Information content and more… We would love to hear from a wide range of young people right across Scotland – we’re particularly interested to hear from: - young carers - young people who live in a rural area - care-experienced young people - if you get or have had free school meals

FRESH Volunteers

Fresh Community Wellness is a growing grassroots charity, registered Scottish Charity Number, SC051346. We operate out of Aberdeen city, working within a (S.I.M.D) high neighbourhood to create lasting change and build a legacy for the future. Predominantly in Seaton neighbourhoods and outdoors, we work with volunteers/residents, with a salutogenic approach to community wellness. To help with this we have great opportunities and need people to help out as volunteers for a range of roles including: *Food growing, gardeners, greenspace management, tidy ups volunteers. *Mentors, community engagement, events, entertainers (kids, adults, 55+). *Outdoors games & sports volunteers, building outdoor areas for residents (sheltered housing seating), health. *Artists/ Sculptors to begin on our Street Art & Design projects, and sculptures. *Admin, coordinators, team lead volunteers, advisors & support volunteers. *Drop-in café helpers, advisors, cooking assistants. All are fantastic opportunities to make a real difference for people and communities in Aberdeen. Excellent support and relevant training is provided to all volunteers. Kids Activities Volunteer

As Part Of The Angus Council Holiday Programme , We Are Looking For Additional Volunteers During The Angus School Holidays in 2024 Saturday 6th April & Sunday 7th April Friday 28 June to Monday 12 August 2024 Monday 7 October to Friday 18 October Friockheim Park Community Volunteers Are Offering Stay & Play Sessions At All These Sessions We Will Be Providing Hot/Cold Drinks, Refreshments & Fresh Fruit To Both Children & Adults.
