Development Volunteers we need you !!!!!!!!!

We are looking for a person(s) to serve as a board member on the Management Board of HALLA (Harlaw Area Lifelong Learning Association).

The board run daytime and evening classes at Kaimhill Learning Centre (Garthdee).

Main tasks and duties include:
-Attend our monthly Board meetings
-Taking notes and prepare a monthly report for the Board meeting.
-Identifying the learning needs of the local community with the Board
-Assist in sourcing funding

A fantastic opportunity to help and make a difference for the community. Your volunteering would be much appreciated, you would be a great addition to our tremendous Board!!!

Organisation aims and objectives

Promoting learning opportunities, particularly in the fields of healthy living, improving literacy, active citizenship, the recognition of achievement and employability, promoting a broad range of non-formal but structured group learning activities for public benefit. Supporting people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds to become more involved in planning their own learning programmes and their continued development. Engaging with the most vulnerable people and groups and planning programmes with them which will help them to reach their full potential. Working with young people to plan and support their own learning and achievement programmes. Offering guidance and support to groups and individuals who would like to broaden their learning opportunities and gain accreditation monitoring and evaluating the association’s activities with a view to ensuring continuous improvement.

We meet on a Tuesday night at 6:15pm till around 8pm, at Kaimhill Learning Centre where we usually meet once a month, next meeting dates to be agreed. HALLA has a computer in the centre. All help makes a difference and is greatly appreciated.

Restrictions

Experience required: -Experience in community engagement work -Essential to be enthusiastic and have a keen interest in community work. -Office procedure, and I.T. skills (ECDL Award or equivalent). -Ability to work with all age groups and be a people person, customer focused, have good communications skills.
Travel details: Based at the Kaimhill Community Learning Centre, Pitmedden Terrace, Garthdee, Aberdeen, AB10 7HR. The Centre is on the numbers 1, and 2 bus routes and there is also parking on the premises.
