Would you like to apply this experience in a meaningful volunteer role to launch young people for life, whilst also enhancing your skills and meeting new people? Do you want to gain new qualifications and have the opportunity to take part in fun activities?

Bridge of Don Sea Cadets is a volunteer-run youth development organisation. We offer young people aged 9-18 the opportunity to experience life-changing adventure. Bridge of Don Unit is looking for enthusiastic and dedicated fundraisers to join its Unit Management Team (UMT).

-About the volunteer fundraiser role:
You will need to liaise with the UMT and support them in their fundraising. Your main role will be to lead on the different types of fundraising, such as trust and foundation applications, letters of appeal, community events and challenge events. You will have full support and training, if required, from the fundraising team at the National Support Centre.

Sea Cadets is the UK’s leading maritime charity and provides a head start in life for young people through nautical adventure and fun.

Frequency and commitment details

The volunteering times are flexible. All help makes a real difference and is greatly appreciated.

Restrictions

Travel details: All UMT members attend a regular UMT meeting - usually 1 hour, monthly or bi-monthly, on a weekday evening at the unit, in person. The unit address is Sea Cadets Bridge Of Don, Building 17, Gordon Barracks, Ellon Road, Bridge of Don, Aberdeen, AB23 8DB. It is easily accessible by car or public transport, including rural services to and from the North of the City. Most other UMT duties can be carried out remotely from home.

Support

Expenses paid: Yes
Expenses details: If UMT members attend a course, then their travel and sometimes food expenses, will be reimbursed. Volunteers claim for these through our online App Financial System.
Training details: Excellent support and training provided to all volunteers. All volunteers also go through a comprehensive induction process covering all areas of Sea Cadet training.
