Over the past 38 years the OWC has worked with schools and community groups across Tayside to increase understanding of issues of global, social and environmental justice. We believe that how we behave locally impacts on the lives of others globally.
Our Global Citizenship Ambassadors would be expected to lead community group sessions exploring the links between our lives and those of people throughout the world - for which training will be given. Our volunteers will be supported by trustees of the OWC.
We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers who want to make a difference.
The objectives of the OWC are to promote Development Education and: a) to enable people to understand the links between their own lives and those of people throughout the world b) to increase understanding of the economic, social, political, cultural and environmental forces which shape all our lives c) to enable people to find ways to bring about change by acting locally to create a more just, peaceful and sustainable world.
