The Retired and Senior Volunteer Programme (RSVP) encourages and supports people aged 50+ to volunteer in their local communities. Across Stirling, Falkirk and Clackmannanshire we run 5 projects involving hundreds of volunteers. These include volunteering activities within local hospitals and primary schools, charitable knitting groups, a walking group for older people, and a community Handyperson Service. We are looking for new Volunteer Organisers who can help ensure that our groups and activities run smoothly. For example, as a Schools Volunteer Organiser you will help us to recruit new volunteers, and making sure that existing volunteers are supported and enjoying their volunteering experience. We currently have vacancies for school organisers in Stirling, Falkirk and in Clackmannanshire. Instead, if you would prefer to become a Handyperson Organiser, you will help to ensure that tasks needed by older people are "assigned" to an appropriate volunteer, and that all volunteers are supported. We'd love to help you set up a group and can provide all ongoing support! The volunteering hours are fully flexible and we will be able to work around your availability. Fresh Community Wellness is a growing grassroots charity, registered Scottish Charity Number, SC051346. We operate out of Aberdeen city, working within a (S.I.M.D) high neighbourhood to create lasting change and build a legacy for the future. Predominantly in Seaton neighbourhoods and outdoors, we work with volunteers/residents, with a salutogenic approach to community wellness. To help with this we have great opportunities and need people to help out as volunteers for a range of roles including: *Food growing, gardeners, greenspace management, tidy ups volunteers. *Mentors, community engagement, events, entertainers (kids, adults, 55+). *Outdoors games & sports volunteers, building outdoor areas for residents (sheltered housing seating), health. *Artists/ Sculptors to begin on our Street Art & Design projects, and sculptures. *Admin, coordinators, team lead volunteers, advisors & support volunteers. *Drop-in café helpers, advisors, cooking assistants. All are fantastic opportunities to make a real difference for people and communities in Aberdeen. Excellent support and relevant training is provided to all volunteers. Support Marie Curie in co -designing and developing new and existing services to support people at the end of life or in their bereavement. Feel confident in sharing their story and listening to others in an open and sensitive way. What we need you to do Your role will include some of, but is not restricted to, the following tasks: Provide input and advice and share your experiences Act as an ambassador and advocate for the charity supporting our work Engage with local organisations and represent the views and perspectives of people living with or caring for someone with a terminal illness, or who have been bereaved. Engage with local communities to listen to and learn from their experiences of end-of-life care and bereavement support and ensure that these experiences are shared with the local Marie Curie teams. Provide a good geographical spread across the relevant local area Available to meet regularly with the Community Engagement Team What skills or experience do you need? Feel confident and able to share your story to a diverse audience.
