Volunteer Support Assistant

Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who is willing to work as part of a team providing high quality assistance and support to a variety of individuals including adults with learning and physical disabilities. The Volunteer Support Assistant will assist the Support Workers and other team members with the Service Programme and any other activities which make take place during operational hours

To provide a safe and secure environment which gives opportunities for individuals to learn new skills and explore relationships within a structured system of programmes.

Restrictions

No real restrictions, but volunteers require to be flexible and reliable
Experience required: We are looking for Volunteers who have knowledge and skills that can be transferable to support our service user group during their daily programme. Some examples of this would be, but not limited to music, drama, arts and crafts, local knowledge of the area, current affairs, sports, cooking, baking and exercise. Experience in social would be useful, but not essential as training is provided.
Travel details: Day Centre at George Steven Centre, Craigton Road, Kilbirnie
Minimum age: 18

Volunteer Craft Room Assistant

Nourish is a vital support for many members of our community and our support centre plays a large part in the support we provide. We feel that our support centre provides a lifeline to many and as such we want to make sure all contact is positive and effective in hearing, understanding, and supporting, whether that is in person, via phone, and by email. It is with this in mind that we have vacancies for part time volunteer receptionists, to support and cover the reception area at our Support Centre. The role will be a wonderful opportunity to learn and apply admin and reception skills. We are holding a volunteer Taster morning on 15th March 2024 at 10:00am so come along and join us!

Voluntary Coworkers within Residential School and Care Homes

As a Voluntary Co-worker you will become part of a team within one of our 10 residential Care homes, set in beautiful surroundings 5 miles outside of Aberdeen City centre and close to the Deeside Railway line. The opportunity does not require you to have previous experience, we just ask that you are caring, patient and willing to help our pupils, have an interest in people and different ways of communications. Our pupils age from 12-25 years old and as part of your position, you will be with them when they attend the school, farm and gardens, workshops or even riding stables as part of their personalised daily routines and assist them with their tasks throughout the day. Training provided in induction and support given throughout the volunteering time within Camphill School Aberdeen. A fantastic opportunity to help with all assistance making a real difference and greatly appreciated.
