Description

The Salvation Army is a worldwide Christian church. Their mission is based on their faith in Jesus Christ who wants everyone to experience life in all its fullness. That is why they put their faith into action by offering practical help for people without discrimination. They are looking for two local volunteers to restart their Cowdenbeath Snack/Connect groups.

The format of The Salvation Army’s Snack/Connect groups are very relaxed and allow adults of differing ages to drop in for a bowl of soup or hot filled roll prepared in the building, or even just a coffee and chat.
Some tasks a group assistant could be involved in are:
• Welcoming and seating visitors
• Explaining what is available and taking orders
• Ensuring all orders are correctly served and payment received
• Clearing up finished crockery and utensils and preparing tables for new visitors

The Salvation Army is a worldwide Christian church. Their mission is based on our faith in Jesus Christ who wants everyone to experience life in all its fullness. That is why, here in the UK they put their faith into action by offering practical help for people without discrimination, sharing good news, seeking justice and reconciliation, caring for creation and nurturing disciples of Jesus. The services they offer are diverse and responsive to the realities of life in the communities they serve.
