*Dementia Café Volunteers*
We are looking for friendly, enthusiastic and caring volunteers who can help us at the Living Well Cafés we have at Newhills Church, Bucksburn AB21 9SS, Oldmachar Church, Bridge of Don AB22 8PR, High Church Hilton, Aberdeen AB24 4NQ and Ferryhill Parish Church, Aberdeen AB11 6UD. You will receive ongoing training and support including Dementia Friends Sessions, working in partnership with Alzheimer's Scotland and NHS Grampian to help you understand what dementia is and how it may affect people. This is a great opportunity to help make a real difference and all assistance is greatly appreciated. Our busy café is open 7 days a week, Monday to Friday 10 am – 2 pm and Saturday and Sunday 11 am – 1 pm and we’re looking for volunteers to work alongside the management committee and staff members to run the café and serve the community. There are opportunities to learn new skills in food preparation, serving customers, working on the till and clearing tables etc. Volunteers will be trained in safe practice and will gain knowledge in good customer service and safe food practice. We are a very warm and welcoming team and enjoy having a good laugh whilst making the Café a successful venture.

Forth Environment Link are looking for enthusiastic, experienced gardeners who would be interested in helping to develop our community garden and becoming Gardening Team Leaders. Are you an experienced gardener who enjoys working with others and sharing your knowledge. Join FEL and help to create a community kitchen garden.
Meet and greet all customers to the tearoom, Serving light lunches, snacks , cakes and hot refreshments Clearing away of dishes and maintaining a clean and tidy tearoom and kitchen, Loading and unloading of dishwasher, Cash handling for the tearoom, Sale and records of any cabinet items, Stock upkeep and replenishment, Basic housekeeping of the tearoom and kitchen, Maintain a consistent high standard of presentation, Keep informed of the activities of the centre.
We are looking for people to volunteer in Huntly Foodbank Centre where we provide emergency food parcel to individuals and families who are referred to us. There are different areas you can help in where you feel most comfortable.
1) If you enjoy coming a long side people and making them feel welcomed and relaxed by offering them tea and coffee then this is one area to help out in.
2) Packing the food parcel for our clients who need support.
3) Checking the dates on our food and stocking the shelves.
(2 & 3 can require heavy lifting so able bodied required) or you can help in all 3 areas if you like.
Ferryhill Parish Church operates a great coffee shop in the heart of Ferryhill, which creates a welcoming environment for those who attend for a morning cuppa and also for those who volunteer their services.
We are requiring helpers, who can assist in the kitchen, as it is a very popular meeting place. Helpers are required to work with the team in the general running of the kitchen. e.g. preparation of food etc

The volunteer would be expected to set up tea and coffee machines, check and record temperature of fridge operate cash register and serve clients.
As the present volunteers are all senior ladies it would be preferable to have similar new members. It would unfortunately be unsuitable for anyone with a disability as there is little room behind serving hatch.
Due to the sensitivity of some circumstances the need for confidentiality is of paramount importance.

If you are looking to gain experience within the catering field, Strathmore Rugby Club are looking for a Catering Volunteer. Specific tasks include preparation of food, serving visitors food and clearing away left overs as well as keeping kitchen clean and tidy.
The ethos is to bring traditional music and the arts to young people using volunteers and young tutors, some of whom themselves have been "Gaitherers". Volunteers are needed to join a fund raising group to actively fund - raise for ongoing projects and needs. Volunteers are also needed to work along side the tutors, youth workers and committee members i.e looking after young people, doing some play, (creative things, games etc), volunteering to provide healthy food - lunches etc. Also a volunteer with legal experience would be very helpful.
