Our busy café is open 7 days a week, Monday to Friday 10 am – 2 pm and Saturday and Sunday 11 am – 1 pm and we’re looking for volunteers to work alongside the management committee and staff members to run the café and serve the community. There are opportunities to learn new skills in food preparation, serving customers, working on the till and clearing tables etc. Volunteers will be trained in safe practice and will gain knowledge in good customer service and safe food practice. We are a very warm and welcoming team and enjoy having a good laugh whilst making the Café a successful venture.

The Solicitors' Room café in Edinburgh Sheriff Court provides drinks and snacks to lawyers to raise funds for local charities. The new, purpose-built café is open Monday to Friday and volunteers work in pairs, in shifts of either 9-11.30am, or 11.30am-2pm. Volunteers will: Provide a friendly and professional welcome to customers Serve a variety of snacks and drinks Keep the café area clean and tidy, adhering to Food Hygiene standards. Either open the café, or close it at the end of the day.
Our counselling service offers free counselling to the people of Perth and beyond. Often our reception/administration staff are the first people to support and offer reassurance without judgement to people in distress. Our team of volunteers care about the wellbeing of another. This is demonstrated through our admin/reception volunteers as well as our counsellors.
The role involves greeting clients and settle in counselling rooms, offering hospitality; to fulfil administration tasks; answering and making calls to arrange appointments.
The Bield is a Christian retreat and Conference Centre with an additional Barn gallery. It is open to people of all faiths or none and guests come for a day or longer, alone or in groups for rest and relaxation, reflection and retreat. As much produce as possible used in catering at the Bield is organic and homegrown. The volunteer will be part of a small team and help pick and process fruit and vegetables during the harvest season from July to the middle of November. The produce is used fresh and also for jams, chutneys, freezing and drying.
