Volunteering as part of the RNLI’s Education Team in Aberdeen is an important role within the charity as we aim to save the lives of young people through our fantastic education programme. A message given today could be a life saved tomorrow. Your role would be to engage with young people to deliver our vital water safety messages alongside promoting the work of the RNLI. Just as we give all our Lifeboat crews the right training and equipment to carry out their lifesaving work, we provide Education Volunteers with all the necessary training and support to carry out their role. Education volunteers have access to a range of online learning materials, as well as opportunities for one to one support from fellow volunteers and RNLI education specialists. As an Education volunteer you will have the opportunity to meet lots of new people and develop your skills in talking to young people. After their first mission as Education Presenters our volunteers often say; ‘I feel like I am performing an important public service and its good to be a part of that’. Kirkcaldy Old Kirk Trust are responsible for preserving and maintaining Kirkcaldy Old Kirk as a community venue, heritage centre and community music hub. Do you enjoy bringing history to life, engaging with people and inspiring others? The Trust needs to expand their team and require an Education Liaison volunteer. The Education Liaison Volunteer will create memorable visits for school groups showing them around Kirkcaldy Old Kirk, may conduct research and develop educational materials linked to the Curriculum for Excellence and arrange school visits to the Old Kirk. Activities include learning about the history of the Old Kirk and sharing this with children and young people. You may take visitors up the old tower to ring the bell, conduct “Stories on Stones” graveyard tours or show visitors the highlights of the Old Kirk, including the spectacular stained-glass windows. This is a great opportunity to share your passion for heritage with others.

Scotland Education and Engagement team are looking for a Virtual Education and Engagement volunteer to assist in the delivery of online sessions, discussing and reflecting on Corporate Parenting practice in relation to people with Care Experience. The role will involve providing technical support and supporting the delivery team where necessary. This is an exciting and newly developed role which gives practical experience within the Third Sector, providing training to Corporate Parents on care experience, and would allow for personal development for a suitable candidate. This position is almost exclusively online, therefore, open to anyone with the ability to work remotely and possesses IT skills. Who Cares? Scotland is a people organisation.
