Social Media Assistant

Description

We are looking to add to our successful media team. We are ideally looking for a 2nd or 3rd year media studies student as we have a proven track record of giving students vital industry experience before finishing their studies, enabling them to find roles in the media industry as our previous incumbents have. However our team would also be delighted to welcome seasoned Social Media specialists who would be interested in giving back to the local community. All roles are voluntary but offer excellent opportunities as well as fulfilling work.

Activities include (but are not limited to), content for our social media channels, match day updates and the opportunity to commentate on live streams / highlights package, pre and post match interviews with the management team / players, match previews and reports.
Out of pocket expenses will be paid and we’ll kit you out in Rose media wear.

Organisation aims and objectives

Bonnyrigg Rose Football Club is a Scottish football club from the town of Bonnyrigg, Midlothian. Formed in 1881 and nicknamed the Rose, the team plays in Scottish League Two, having been promoted after winning the Lowland Football League in 2021–22. Our Aim is to continue our success and help to contribute to the local community who have loyally supported us throughout the years and into the future. We aim to provide meaningful volunteering opportunities to those who wish to contribute to the club, give back to the community, feel a sense of purpose and provide experience and opportunities to those who may need a boost to achieve their goals.

Frequency and commitment details

Variable but will include working match and training days.

Restrictions

Experience required: The ideal candidate should be able to communicate with confidence, be able to plan, organise and be able to work on their own and as part of a team. They should have a good working knowledge of social media marketing & PR activities.
Travel details: Local bus services. There is team transport to away games.

Support

Expenses paid: Yes
Expenses details: Expenses are paid when incurred by the volunteer for example reimbursement for petrol for the kit van etc. They will also be provided with full staff branded clothing.
Training details: They will be supported by the other volunteer members of the back room staff as well as the manager, coaching staff and players. They will be shown what is expected and supported with additional training and support on an ongoing basis.

Social Media Assistant

OPAL: East Dunbartonshire’s Information Line is a free information service for residents of East Dunbartonshire. OPAL helps people get the information/support they need and to access local services vital to both their mental/physical health and wellbeing. By assisting with the coordination of OPAL’s social media activities, you will be raising awareness of the service and helping us reach people who need help and support, but don’t know where to get it. Although our social media channels are well established, we feel we do not utilize these tools to their full capacity. We are keen to work with someone who is interested in this area and in return for your time, we will offer you the chance to showcase your skills and develop new approaches to promoting the organisation digitally. There will also be opportunities for training, networking, and other tasks related to OPAL but most importantly you will be working alongside skilled OPAL Advisers, helping you develop your skills and knowledge on a range of topics.
