Description

Benarty Community Shop are looking for volunteers. There are two parts of the community shop – the charity shop and the coffee shop. As a volunteer, you can get involved with serving customers, sorting donations, checking items, ironing and using the washing machine, displaying clothes and stock, or making drinks.
Volunteers are trained in each department and can have the opportunity to volunteer in one or all of them. This is a great opportunity to gain experience in a retail and coffee shop environment. The profits go to worthwhile projects in the local community.
They have a welcoming, happy environment in their shop and contribute to this by taking into account volunteers’ ideas and suggestions. They are very much a team.

Restrictions

Experience required: Be able to work well with others. Be happy to try new things and learn new things. Be willing to take part in courses (not obligatory). Be committed and reliable. No experience is necessary as full training will be given.

Training details: They have an informal chat with the prospective volunteer, show them around the premises, pointing out fire regulations and procedures, offer training for all aspects of the shop but also additional training in the form of courses such as food hygiene, first aid, customer service and more. They offer support by having regular chats and meetings and ensure that the training is kept up to date and relevant.
