Description

Volunteers would support our Sessional Staff at activities for our young people who have autism. Our volunteers would help within a diverse range of activities including swimming, youth/teen groups, sports and toddler groups ages ranging from 0-16.

Organisation aims and objectives

REACH was established to bridge the gap in post diagnostic services across Lanarkshire, to provide support to families who have a young person with an Autism Spectrum Condition. We provide a service to families and individuals in need of our support to lead empowered and inclusive lives. REACH provides emotional and practical support and guidance to individuals and families living with an ASD and raises awareness of the condition in the home and in the local and wider community.

Activities Volunteer - Inverness

Connecting Young Carers (CYC) are looking for fun and enthusiastic volunteers to assist them with their Inverness After School group in Balloch and their event programme throughout the year. This may be of interest to individuals looking for a one-off volunteering opportunity or a regular commitment depending on the volunteer’s availability. The Activities Volunteer will assist with the organisation and running of Connecting Young Carers (CYC) events as and when required including: • Provide assistance to CYC staff with the organisation and running of CYC events. • On the day support to help set up the event, organise registration, welcome young carers and answer any queries throughout the day. • Engage with young carers and their families attending the events, encourage participation in the event or activity and make them feel welcome. • Help promote the work of Connecting Young Carers. • To attend induction training in advance of the event. For anyone new to volunteering we would be happy for you to come along and meet the team and see what the group is all about. Hopefully you'll enjoy your first volunteering experience and want to join our team of volunteers.

Fundraising Events & Activities Volunteer

Glasgow Children's Hospital Charity host lots of varied fundraising events and activities throughout the year and these are only possible with the support of our amazing volunteers. From holding a bucket outside Hampden Stadium to helping children with arts and crafts at Silverburn, we have something for everyone! What's great too is that this role is very flexible, you pick and choose what you would like to be involved in and the time you can give to that activity. This is a great opportunity for anyone that enjoys interacting with the public and would like to have a direct impact by helping to raise vital funds that support our young patients, their families and our NHS heroes at the hospital. Activities Volunteer

Autism Rocks want to see Fife as a place where people with Autism and their families, are accepted as valued members of the community. Their mission is to promote and provide understanding, acceptance, inclusion, education and support. Their centre in Buckhaven is open Wednesday and Thursday for drop-in sessions from 10am to 1pm, with Friday evenings from 6-8pm for teen/adult sessions and Saturdays for family days from 10.00am- 1.00pm. Within these sessions there are many different activities on offer for service users and their families, including sensory integration, arts and crafts, music therapy, lego therapy. They have a sensory garden that they maintain together giving families the opportunity to learn some new skills. Volunteers are needed to help at any of these times & days. There will always be a Trustee present, and you will help by speaking to family members or service users who might want a chat as well as helping to run/tidy up after the various groups or help to maintain the garden.
