Description

Glasgow Children's Hospital Charity host lots of varied fundraising events and activities throughout the year and these are only possible with the support of our amazing volunteers. From holding a bucket outside Hampden Stadium to helping children with arts and crafts at Silverburn, we have something for everyone! What's great too is that this role is very flexible, you pick and choose what you would like to be involved in and the time you can give to that activity.

This is a great opportunity for anyone that enjoys interacting with the public and would like to have a direct impact by helping to raise vital funds that support our young patients, their families and our NHS heroes at the hospital.

Organisation aims and objectives

Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity raises funds to support young patients, their families and the NHS heroes who care for them at Scotland’s largest children’s hospital. Money raised through donations, fundraising and volunteering helps to fund our life-changing projects and support services including our hospital Play Programme, Family Support and Bereavement Services, Medical Equipment, Paediatric Research and support for NHS staff.

Do you want to gain new qualifications and have the opportunity to take part in fun activities? Bridge of Don Sea Cadets is a volunteer-run youth development organisation. We offer young people aged 9-18 the opportunity to experience life-changing adventure. Bridge of Don Unit is looking for enthusiastic and dedicated fundraisers to join its Unit Management Team (UMT). -About the volunteer fundraiser role: You will need to liaise with the UMT and support them in their fundraising. Your main role will be to lead on the different types of fundraising, such as trust and foundation applications, letters of appeal, community events and challenge events. Trustee for Scout Group

Our trustees help behind-the-scenes doing various jobs, like admin, organising, and helping to improve Scouts for all. You won’t need to come to Scouts every week, run a session, or give up all your free time. If you’re not keen on working directly with young people, that’s OK too. Trustees do lots of things out of the spotlight, and there’s lots you can do from home. In terms of effort, the Group Executive Committee have approximately 3 to max 6 meetings per year which lasted between 1-2 hours; however in the GEC a lot of operational points would be discussed which will not be part of the Trustee Board. The Trustee Board will have the role to oversee the group from a governance perspective. The following tasks are done by the Trustee Board: GOVERNANCE TASKS - Make sure sufficient resources (funds, people, property and equipment) are available for the delivery of a high quality programme - Make sure the charity's finances are properly managed, including appropriate budgets - Make sure there's effective administration in place to support the work of the Trustee Board - Take responsibility for following Data Protection legislation - Make sure everyone follows legal requirements and Policy, Organisation and Rules (POR) - Make sure employed staff are managed effectively SUPPORT OR OPERATIONAL TASKS - Fundraising activities; premises management and equipment maintenance - Bookkeeping, banking, paying invoices and expenses - Distribute agendas, minutes, etc. for meetings and AGMS; manage appointments to the Board - Manage any websites, email systems, or document stores - Act as line manager, supporting staff in their work

Admin Assistant

Our project is to create one of Scotland’s largest murals through the Alloway Railway Tunnel. We want to transform an old, dilapidated tunnel that has been defaced with graffiti into a safe, inspiring place, with a beautiful hand painted mural by one of the UK’s top muralists and visionaries. Chris Rutterford. Main duties: Attend and take minutes of trustee meeting (once a month – usually on a Thursday morning) Take minutes of artists meeting – evening meeting on MS Teams - once a month Type up and circulate minutes to all trustees Type up an action tracker Prepare meeting agendas Assist with bookings for events Assist with other admin tasks as directed by Secretary of ART to support marketing and events
