About Us
Indepen-dance is an award-winning inclusive dance company for disabled and non-disabled people to enjoy, express and fulfil their potential through dance. Our mission is to enable participation in high quality arts provision and improve wellbeing, quality of life and provide opportunities for disabled and non-disabled dancers in both the professional and non-professional dance sectors. We provide weekly creative movement and dance classes throughout the year, where participants become lifelong members and join a
thriving social network. We also provide bespoke professional training, career
development and employment opportunities.

Role – Dance Support Volunteer
The role of Dance Support Volunteer will be to commit and attend one of our weekly scheduled dance classes to provide and assist the dance tutor and dance artist deliver a class for our dancers (members). Develop professional practice and skills by supporting our members with a disability to take part in class.

Restrictions

Experience required: No previous experience is required to volunteer in our classes whether you are a dancer as a hobby, student or professional. The opportunity would suit anyone willing to develop their dance and facilitation practice interested in dance, theatre, the arts to become more inclusive.
Travel details: You will be scheduled in one of our weekly classes held at the same venue each week. Our classes are held across the city at Tramway, Pollockshaws Burgh Halls, Pearce Institute, Maryhill Community Centre and our own Indepen-dance venue based in Bridgeton.
Minimum age: 18

Expenses details: Volunteer Travel expenses will be covered to ensure no volunteer is out of pocket for volunteering.
