Are you care experienced yourself or working towards a career in social care? Do you want to gain valuable experience, make a positive change, be part of a likeminded community all whilst having fun? We would love to hear from you! No experience necessary - just an open mind, kindness and compassion! Our service matches volunteer mentors to young people aged between 8-14years who are on the edge of care, in a kinship arrangement or on a CSO. Our mentees are looking for a person to build and grow a positive relationship, try new activities, tackle isolation, build confidence and have fun in the community! We provide in person training, ongoing support and a community of mentors who are there to share experiences. We are there to support you every step of the way! Our service covers all of Glasgow and North Lanarkshire, having a car is desirable but not essential. *This role requires 2 days of training in house and subject to PVG check*

As Part Of The Angus Council Holiday Programme , We Are Looking For Additional Volunteers During The Angus School Holidays in 2024 Saturday 6th April & Sunday 7th April Friday 28 June to Monday 12 August 2024 Monday 7 October to Friday 18 October Friockheim Park Community Volunteers Are Offering Stay & Play Sessions At All These Sessions We Will Be Providing Hot/Cold Drinks, Refreshments & Fresh Fruit To Both Children & Adults. You Will Be Part Of A Team Of Volunteers Running Each Session Which Will Be Held On A Variety Of Days Throughout The Holidays, An Enhanced PVG Will Be Required For This Role. The Carrick Community Food Garden (CCFG) invites you to discover the joy of growing fruit and vegetables, building and creating with members of your community garden, where everyone shares the work and the harvest. Being part of a community garden is a great activity to do by yourself or with friends and family and a good opportunity to get outdoors, learn new skills, meet new and like-minded people, keep active, improve mental health and contribute towards your community and the environment. All work is supervised, tasks could include clearing the ground in preparation for food growing, planting, seed sowing, weeding, digging, harvesting produce, building raised beds, shifting compost and general site maintenance or occasional help with events and sharing ideas. We share the harvest with our community food pantry, contributors, the groups we support and when possible we cook and share meals on site. We encourage people of all ages and levels of fitness, from complete beginners to experienced growers there is a way for you to contribute to your community garden. At CCFG we are very flexible, you can drop in to learn more and see what it's like before you decide to contribute your time and energy.

Tarbolton Community Council is a voluntary organisation made up of local residents, each with a genuine interest in the community. Their main role is to be representative through consultation with the local community, and make it known to the local authority and other public bodies the views of local people on all matters affecting them. If you're interested to help out our community in Tarbolton doing various tasks depending on what's happening in our village. Some tasks may include: - Gardening - Participating in events - Maintaining public areas - and any other tasks that might be needed by the TCC We welcome all volunteers, even if it is just for a couple of hours a week or a month. We would also welcome any suggestions and ideas which could benefit our community.
