Health and Wellbeing Activity Volunteer

Description

The Community Hub East Renfrewshire is leading health and wellbeing activities in collaboration with East Renfrewshire Health & Social Care Partnership. The aim is to encourage adults to join in activities that support their health and wellbeing, such as walks or chair based exercise, whilst meeting new friends and enjoying spaces in their community.

We are looking for Volunteer Walk Leaders and Strength & Balance facilitators across East Renfrewshire.

Time Commitment:
At least 40 -60 minutes each week to support the activities.

Voluntary Action East Renfrewshire (SCIO) connects and supports volunteering, social enterprising activity and voluntary groups to make East Renfrewshire a better place to live

Frequency and commitment details

Time Commitment: At least 40 -60 minutes each week to support the activities.

Restrictions

Travel details: The activities take place across East Renfrewshire with volunteers placed to the activity and area that most suits them. Whilst the programme aims to build on existing activities we also support volunteers to develop new activities within their community that they feel would benefit their local area.
Minimum age: 18

Training details: • Training to help you lead a healthy walk • Strength and Balance Training Scottish Charity, Paths for All and The Community Hub provide training. Other training such as Heart Start and Dementia Walk Leader training is also available.

In-water Volunteer

Inclusive Surfing Scotland is a new charity that delivers surfing experiences to children and adults with disabilities that restrict their access to the waves. We are recruiting in-water volunteers to support our surfers in the water, helping to push them into waves, catch them in the shallows and provide support and encouragement throughout. All volunteers will complete our in-house training (an online induction, followed by in-water training) and will be PVG checked. Help make our surfers experience in the waves unforgettable!

Sporting Memories Club Volunteer

Volunteers play an essential role in keeping our clubs thriving across Scotland and without their dedication to older people we simply wouldn’t be able to run our community clubs. Bravehound Buddy

BRAVEHOUND needs volunteers with time to commit to a fully supported training programme for around 4 months. The dogs will live with the BRAVEHOUND Buddy for around 4 -6 months. All costs for the dog including food and equipment are covered by BRAVEHOUND. The role includes caring for the welfare of the dog, socialising and with instruction from the BRAVEHOUND training team, help with training the foundations of an assistance dog.
