Cornerstones TASK group allows the people we support to voice their opinions on how Cornerstone, as care provider, affects their lives. The group meets monthly to discuss possible improvements and ideas with the aim of increasing participation within our organisation by listening, and taking onboard, the views of the people we support. The group is expected to get bigger and as a result, we are looking for a dedicated volunteer to assist with the chairing of the meetings. If you are a good listener and capable and creative when it comes to typing pictorial, easy to understand minutes then we would love to hear from you. This is a perfect opportunity for a Social Work/Community Care student who can spare a few hours each month and would like to get involved in the Personalisation process of one of Scotland’s leading care providers.

All reasonable travel expenses will be reimbursed and full supervision and training will be provided.

DENNY AND DUNIPACE CITIZENS ADVICE BUREAU ARE SEEKING TO RECRUIT 10 VOLUNTEERS. To help provide effective and efficient advice to members of the public, carry out admin duties and develop the bureau. Main Duties include: •Interviewing clients – listen to the client and let the client explain the problem. Help the client to clarify the issues by exploring the problem and asking questions •Giving information - Use Advisernet and other reference materials to find the relevant information, communicate that information to clients •Giving advice – explain the information to the client and the choices that the client has, so they can decide what to do •Give practical help – Fill in forms on paper or online, do benefit checks using appropriate calculation tools, speak to or contact other agencies on behalf of the client, with the client’s consent. •Complete clear case records •Recognise the root cause of problems and participate in taking action •Carry out admin duties. •Carry out reception duties. Denny and Dunipace CAB run a comprehensive training programme for Trainee Advisers which provides support and mentoring with an experienced Adviser. In return, your travel expenses will be reimbursed by the Bureau and there is access to external training once all initial training is completed. Many Advisers have gained useful experience and qualifications whilst volunteering for Denny and Dunipace CAB which have helped them gain employment.

Membership Secretary (Ratho Branch)

To act as a membership secretary for the Ratho Branch only of Seagull Trust Cruises Role Summary ... This is a new role which has previously been handled by the Branch Secretary and which can be developed by the volunteer according to skills and aptitude. It involves working with Branch to recruit new volunteers, maintaining records of existing volunteers and generally keeping in contact with them. Most communications are by email and basic IT skills are needed. The Branch has a reception centre at Ratho giving an opportunity to meet other volunteers but the role would be essentially "working from home". The volunteer would be welcome to join a boat crew and join cruises if desired. The Membership Secretary will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth membership processes and effective communication within the organization

Branch Fundraising Volunteer (South Lanarkshire Branch)

Branches are run entirely by volunteers with advice and support from the national charity. The Fundraising Volunteer role is important to the running of the branch as they help organise fundraising events for the branch. Without these roles, we would not have as many branches as we do. What you will be doing Putting collection tins in local shops or community areas. Holding a ‘tin collection’ in a local town – this is where Branch members stand outside shops with collection tins and get donations. Holding a sponsored event such as a swim or walk. People will sponsor branch members' money to complete certain tasks. Holding an event for local people to attend – quiz night, auction, raffle, talk, coffee and cake morning – people will give donations when they come. Having a section on the branch website that people can click on if they want to give money. Talking to committee members about different ways to fundraise and deciding what to do as a Branch. Talking to NAS Fundraising Team and ensuring the branch complies with the NAS rules on fundraising. Talking to committee members about different ways to fundraise and deciding what to do as a branch. Publicising events, distributing information or fundraising forms. Supporting people who are fundraising on behalf of the branch. Working with the Treasurer to ensure that the money is collected safely and banked accurately.

Volunteer Social Media Assistant

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who will help us maintain our social media platforms. This role would include updating our Facebook page with current and upcoming events taking place within the Community Hub. This role may involve photography, interviewing staff, service users and other individuals connected with our services.
