Volunteers we need you, with you inspiration and motivation to serve as a board member on the Management Board of HALLA (Harlaw Area Lifelong Learning Association). We are a Board of people who run daytime and evening classes at Kaimhill Learning Centre. We have a FB page ( @HALLACommunity) where you can see some of our activities and tutored classes. We meet once a month to discuss new opportunities and management issues, to find new ways of how-to bring people of all ages in the local community into the centre. We have several weekly, social, informal learning groups where Board members can get to know each other and form a friendly working relationship. A volunteer should be passionate, enthusiastic and have a keen interest in community matters. A volunteer does not necessarily require specific skills since we all support each other to develop new skills but if you have specific ones, it would be good to introduce them to the rest of the Board so we can use them to benefit the local community. The Board would appreciate people with knowledge of IT and office procedures but enthusiasm and interest in the community are equally important. This is an amazing opportunity to discover your “hidden talents” !!! You are very welcome to attend a committee meeting and see if this is for you. Fresh Community Wellness is a growing grassroots charity, registered Scottish Charity Number, SC051346. We operate out of Aberdeen city, working within a (S.I.M.D) high neighbourhood to create lasting change and build a legacy for the future. Predominantly in Seaton neighbourhoods and outdoors, we work with volunteers/residents, with a salutogenic approach to community wellness. To help with this we have great opportunities and need people to help out as volunteers for a range of roles including: *Food growing, gardeners, greenspace management, tidy ups volunteers. *Mentors, community engagement, events, entertainers (kids, adults, 55+). *Outdoors games & sports volunteers, building outdoor areas for residents (sheltered housing seating), health. *Artists/ Sculptors to begin on our Street Art & Design projects, and sculptures. *Admin, coordinators, team lead volunteers, advisors & support volunteers. *Drop-in café helpers, advisors, cooking assistants. We are looking for people interested in contributing to our citizen journalism network. If you share our progressive values and our desire to diversify the media, challenging established narratives, then you could be the perfect fit. In return, we provide editorial support to help you improve your writing and craft strong stories, plus the protections offered by liability insurance and IMPRESS regulation. You will have access to webinars and other online training on various aspects of journalism, as well as a range of resources in our knowledge bank. You will have the opportunity to network and to build up a portfolio. We love to see our writers go on to find paid employment in journalism. We are committed to bringing in new voices currently missing from the media, so we particularly welcome applicants from underrepresented groups. We take a flexible approach to organisation so if you need extra help to write, for instance to work around a disability, just let us know and we will do our best to help.

UNIQUE Friends Together is a Community Group based in Ayr in the south west of Scotland. Our purpose is to promote inclusivity and integration for young people aged 16 to 30 with additional support needs. We do this by organising and running safe and accessible social events and activities such as disco, karaoke, games, cinema, trips etc. New people are always welcome to come along to any of our events - we love seeing new faces. The group is run entirely by volunteers and managed by a small committee of five Trustees. Our trustees and event volunteers include parents/guardians of young people with ASN. We are looking for a volunteer who can provide the technical know how to set up equipment for our various social activities and events, for example discos, cinema/movie nights and karaoke. We have regular social events every second Friday evening with occasional activities happening from time to time. These events provide fun, friendship and social inclusion for the young people who come along. We are based in Heathfield Community Centre in Ayr and the events take place there. We need someone with the technical know how and a few hours to spare as a volunteer to help us make sure that we can deliver events as promised.
