Description

Lead Volunteers are essential to the running of our shop. Be involved in the planning and running of the shop, such as risk assessments, fire escape routes, volunteer health and safety, team involvement, supporting in events and pop-up stalls, and the responsibility of the day to day running of the shop in the absence of the shop manager.

All Sue Ryder Shop Volunteers have the opportunity to be involved in many aspects of the day to day running of the store including but not limited to….

  • Sorting and pricing stock
  • Stock replenishment
  • General customer service
  • Till work
  • Window Dressing
  • PAT Testing
  • Ebay and social media use

Our lead volunteers receive an enhanced level of training enabling them to take on additional levels of responsibility. This training is both in the store with colleagues, and via eLearning.

Organisation aims and objectives

Sue Ryder is a British palliative, neurological and bereavement support charity based in the United Kingdom. The organisation provides care and support for people living with terminal illnesses and neurological conditions, as well as individuals who are coping with a bereavement. Help us be there when it matters. Last year, over 15,000 volunteers supported us across the charity, and without them, we simply couldn’t achieve our ambition to provide more expert care for more people. Come along and join our friendly team in the Prestwick Shop to help raise money for this worthwhile cause.
