SensationALL Volunteers

*Volunteers are key to the success of SensationALL! *Do you have an hour or more to spare and want to make a difference in a fun and friendly environment? SensationALL run sensory based therapy groups and services for children and adults with multiple support needs. We need volunteers to assist our team in delivering engaging and rewarding sessions for all our service users. You would be involved in activities such as crafts, baking, games and music as well as helping with the set-up, making refreshments and tidying up. Our children’s groups include access to our soft play area so they can experience free play in safe and comfortable surroundings as well as structured messy play, sensory story-time or craft activities. Individuals interested in gaining experience working with people who have sensory and learning disabilities and autism will particularly benefit from volunteering with us however no previous experience is required. Volunteers of all ages and backgrounds are welcome. We also require volunteers to help with: *Fundraising *Events *IT/admin tasks *Maintenance/equipment cleaning *Trustee Board Members Good support and relevant training is provided to all volunteers. Every volunteer is given an induction prior to starting. Once actively volunteering with us we will extend the opportunity to attend any in-house training such as first aid, introduction to Autism, Makaton amongst others. Befriender Volunteer

Inspire have opportunities for people to assist as Befrienders. Befriender Volunteers allow individuals supported by Inspire to have regular contact with a volunteer who shares their interests and with whom they can carry out activities, such as going for coffee, going to the cinema or even going with them to the football. A befriender is someone who will make a regular commitment to an individual supported by Inspire, to come with them to events or do activities with them, but will also be there to listen and talk with and share experiences. This is a great, enjoyable opportunity where you will make a vital contribution to the work of Inspire and the people we support in the North-east of Scotland and be part of a friendly and supportive team. Coffee Shop Volunteers

Volunteer Activities Assistant

Do you agree that every person who has a learning disability should have the choice and control to live the life they choose? Aberdeen ENABLE Branch are looking for enthusiastic, committed volunteers to help at their weekly 'Pop Club' for adults with a Learning Disability from all over Aberdeen. The Branch has been running social activities in the city for nearly 60 years and there are currently around fifty members of the club. There are a number of tasks on the night at the club such as: welcoming people arriving and collecting money, making tea and coffee and serving tables, playing music, interacting with members of the club and seeing members off safely and tidying the hall afterwards. Activities Volunteers are required to help with these tasks on the night. The club meets fortnightly on a Friday night at the Rosemount Community Centre in Aberdeen (AB25 2NS) from 7.00 until 9.30 Throughout the volunteering opportunity you will gain new skills and experience working with people who have a Learning Disabilities, their families and carers. You will also have lots of fun helping to create an enjoyable experience for all involved. Out of pocket expenses will be reimbursed in line with Aberdeen Branch policy. Volunteers will be given an induction by the Branch Committee. If you are interested but would like to visit the Pop Club for a 'taster session' - this can be arranged as well. Volunteer Minibus Escorts

Aberdeen ENABLE Branch are looking for enthusiastic, committed volunteers to escort Branch members with a Learning Disability on the branch minibus to social activities. Volunteers will travel with the minibus driver, collect branch members from their home and escort them in the branch minibus to social activities and then home again. Aberdeen Branch has been running social activities in the city for nearly 60 years and there are currently around fifty members of the 'Pop Club' which meets fortnightly. The specific tasks for the role are to inform the driver of the run sheet of pickups of club members, to greet the member at their door and walk with them to the minibus, to ensure that people board the bus safely and to repeat the process on the journey back home. Volunteers will come from a wide range of backgrounds and will have many different qualities and skills. Essential qualities for this role are: an enthusiastic and positive attitude and being a team player, willing to work with others from a range of backgrounds. Throughout the volunteering opportunity you will gain new skills and experience working with people who have a Learning Disabilities, their families and carers. You will also gain practical experience of assisting and escorting a group of people on a minibus. Out of pocket expenses will be reimbursed in line with Aberdeen Branch policy. Volunteer Minibus Driver

Aberdeen ENABLE Branch are looking for enthusiastic, committed volunteers to help drive their minibus allowing people with a Learning Disability to attend social events. Aberdeen Branch has been running social activities in the city for nearly 60 years and there are currently around fifty members of the 'Pop Club' which meets fortnightly. The volunteer driver must meet specifications laid out by the DVLA for driving a minibus in the UK. The specific tasks for the role are to follow a run sheet of pickups of ENABLE members in the Aberdeen area, assist escorts in ensuring that people board the bus safely, drive to social activity location, ensure that people disembark safely, repeat process on journey back home. In addition volunteers are expected to fuel minibus (paid for by the Branch) and fill in maintenance check list. Volunteers should also be prepared to store the minibus in a safe location. Throughout the volunteering opportunity you will gain new skills and experience working with people who have a Learning Disabilities, their families and carers. You will also gain practical experience of driving a minibus for a specific group of people. Out of pocket expenses will be reimbursed in line with Aberdeen Branch policy. Horticulture Activities Assistant - Orkney

St Colms has a large polytunnel and garden area with cold frames where they grow and sell plants. We are looking for volunteers to assist adults with learning disabilities with horticulture activities.This could be in the polytunnel or outdoors. Tasks include sowing seeds, planting out seedlings, weeding and watering.
