Thursday Phoenix Club Befrienders (1-3pm)

Inchgarth Community Centre provide a fantastic programme of activities for the community with the tremendous help of volunteers. Inchgarth has over 170 sessions of activity per week-serving every age group and section of the community. As a big and vibrant community centre, we offer a large range of activities for all ages and welcome a range of charities at the community centre. We have a great opportunity for people to help as Thursday Phoenix Club Befrienders (1-3pm). The Phoenix Club is a wonderful social club for adults with learning or physical disabilities, where people have fun and socialise together. Every Thursday from 1pm-3pm, the club meets at Inchgarth Community Centre to play pool, video games or board games, to sing karaoke or paint. We are seeking new volunteers for the club and for befrienders. Your role would be to take part in activities, play pool and board games with our members, take people to the cafe and have a hot drink. No experience necessary we just need you to be friendly and enthusiastic. We want our Phoenix Club members to feel special during this fantastic club and you could be that difference in people’s lives. It is also a good opportunity to improve your communication skills, to gain experience working with people with learning and physical disabilities and to help the community grow. You will also be joining team Inchgarth that was awarded the highest award in the country by Her Majesty the Queen via the Queen's Award for Voluntary Service, a collective MBE for all team members who volunteer. Be part of this fantastic centre and the wonderful Phoenix club. All volunteers are greatly appreciated and provided with excellent support. Bakery Volunteers

The Breadmaker is part of the Aberdeen Day Project (a registered charity), is a social enterprise, artisan bakery and coffee house. We are seeking Bakery Volunteers. This is a chance to volunteer as part of a team at an established charity and social enterprise in the heart of Aberdeen. We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers with a passion for cooking and baking to help grow and develop our apprentices, while volunteering in a fun environment. Volunteers will need to be patient and understanding, you should be confident in your abilities and be able to take responsibility. An exciting and fantastic opportunity to volunteer in an award winning bakery and help make a real difference for people we support as well. Coffee Shop Volunteers

Children's Activity Cafe Support Volunteer

Would you like to support children with disabilities to get involved in activities and have fun? The Hyperclub offer many activities/services for children with disabilities, including activity cafes, a sensory room and weekly karaoke. They are looking for activity cafe support volunteers to support the children that attend. As a volunteer, you will support the children that attend to take part in activities within the cafe of the Hyperclub, such as games and sensory activities. You will engage with the children, show them how to complete the activities and try to create a fun and enjoyable atmosphere for everyone that attends. Volunteers are needed for sessions on Mondays, Wednesdays or Fridays, and there will be a minimum of one volunteers or staff member to four children. No experience with children with additional support needs is required, only a positive and patient attitude, as training will be given.

Support Volunteer

They are looking for support volunteers to help with their sessions for adults with disabilities and their carers sessions. As a volunteer, you will support those that attend to take part in activities and support sessions, engaging with the adults, showing them how to complete activities and trying to create an open and inclusive atmosphere for everyone that attends. Volunteers are needed for sessions throughout the week. No experience with carers or adults with additional support needs is required, only a positive and patient attitude, as training will be given.

Do you have a passion for the power of technology? Our vision is to create... "A world in which digital services are equally accessible to all". As an AbilityNet Tech volunteer you can help unleash the power of technology to ensure that older people and disabled people are not excluded from the digital world. Overview All across the UK our 300 volunteers support older and/or disabled people at home to offer one-to-one support with their technology, whether that’s a computer, laptop, smartphone or tablet. Our volunteers: - Trouble shoot technical issues. - Offer impartial advice on technology. - Set up new tech and install hardware and software. - Show people how to use their tech at home e.g. shop online, send and receive emails and Skype with family and friends. - Make adaptations to support a disabled person’s specific technology needs. What will I be doing? - Contacting clients to arrange a date/time to support (home visits or supporting them remotely). - Carrying out tech support for the clients you have accepted. - Feeding back on progress via our online ticketing system. - Supporting your local Coordinator with promoting the volunteer service in the local area. - Getting together with other tech volunteers at team meetings and wider company events. - Undergoing training on technology, particularly adaptive technology. - Supporting other volunteers through our online chat facility What are the benefits to me?
