This is a great opportunity to be involved with a Christian Medical charity to raise funds for a neglected tropical disease. Leprosy still exists in over 120 countries with approximately 200,000 new cases every year despite there being a cure.
The group has been in existence in the local area for over 50 years. We meet 4 times per year to organise events eg coffee mornings, concerts, participating in sponsored walk such as the Kilt Walk and running events. Speaking opportunities are available to inform others of the charity.
We have a good relationship with various local churches who support us and send in donations.
You would be volunteering with a small group of friendly , welcoming people to use your ideas to participate in and enhance fundraising events. All new ideas for fundraising are always welcomed.
We feel new members to the group would enhance and refresh what we do.
A warm welcome is extended to attend a meeting to decide whether this is something you would enjoy and find as rewarding as we do.
The Leprosy Mission Scotland ( Registered Scottish Charity SC022411 ) is part of The Leprosy Mission International.

ROOTS WWV (Woman with a Van) is a scheme run by ROOTS HHFS Food Bank, a grassroots community group based in Bonnybridge, in conjunction with Falkirk Council. We help those moving forward from homelessness move into accommodation by offering the van to transport household items, and sourcing and collecting start up items for those who are moving with little to nothing. The scheme is Falkirk wide and referrals are made through Falkirk Council homelessness services.
As the project continues to grow and we reach more people, we need help with managing the load! We are seeking a volunteer who can drive our van and help with the moves and collections. If you can help with the lifting and carrying then that's an added bonus too! This is a flexible role but many of the drives can be during the working week. If you have a full drivers license and are keen to get involved with this friendly and proactive group, then we'd love to hear from you!
We are looking for someone with administrative skills to enter data onto our database, and to help with the production of food labels for our food project.
Signpost International is based at the Roundhouse and is a charity that supports communities to help them help themselves. In Dundee we run the Roundhouse Kitchen where we take food waste and turn this into healthy nutritious meals that are then distributed through the food larders across the city.
