Dunfermline based Talk Matters offers counselling/ psychotherapy for up to 50 clients per week and placement opportunities for those training in the field.
Talk Matters is seeking volunteer trustees to join its board. Trustees contribute to the realisation of Talk Matters’ goal of relieving people in need of psychological support by the provision of a financially accessible, professional counselling service.
The board is fully responsible for the governance and fiscal probity of the charity. Ten monthly meetings are held with an annual general meeting in November. Presently, the board comprises five trustees. The charity is held in high standing and trustees are rightly protective of its reputation.
There is an opportunity for you to use your skills in the areas of HR/IT/Finance or Law whilst other skills in administration and fundraising would be most welcome. It is not necessary that you have work/volunteering experience within the psychological therapy sector.
Friends of Hillcrest is a charity group ran by many volunteers to support Hillcrest Care home in Girvan.
We also look for volunteers to support our residents at the care home. Friendly faces visiting our older residents on a regular basis at a time that is convenient to both the resident and yourself. You could sit down with a tea and chat about your lives, or maybe a chat while you play cards.
As a volunteer, you can be the vital link between the resident and the outside world. You can really make a difference, with the residents having something to look forward to.

We also look for volunteers to support our driving team to be an extra pair of hands when out on our trips. Taking residents for trips out to places such as the seaside, bring back happy memories and provides so much joy. This encourages the residents to talk about their memories and can prove to be a powerful stimulant, providing a much-needed change of scene along with a breath of fresh air. Being a volunteer, supporting these day trips will definitely make a change to the residents.
Volunteers will come from a wide range of backgrounds and will have many different qualities and skills. Essential qualities for this role are: an enthusiastic and positive attitude and being a team player, willing to work with others from a range of backgrounds.
Throughout the volunteering opportunity you will gain new skills and experience working with residents, their families and carers. You will also gain practical experience of assisting a group of people on a minibus and day trips.

We are looking for people who would go on a rota to join our minibus drivers team. With our minibus service we try to provide the residents of Hillcrest transport to and from hospital appointments but also to get out and about on day trips to sight see, build relationships, make memories, reminisce old places, support mental health and generally to provide different experiences for all residents.
You do not need to commit to weekly, monthly days or dates it’s as and when you are available.

Purpose and Aims of the role
Bright Stars is an ongoing, fortnightly group based in Kilmarnock that supports young care experienced people. This is a vibrant and dynamic group that provides a wide range of activities and opportunities for its members. As we continue to develop, we would particularly like to hear from potential volunteers who have an interest in sports and/or arts and crafts.
Perhaps you have a passion for inspiring others, a background in or a passion for art or maybe a love for all things sport related. If so then we would love to hear from you.
By bringing your skills and experience to the group, you will bring something new and be able to contribute your own ideas and help plan new activities.
In the wider aspect of the role, you will assist in providing and supporting activities for young people, including day trips and at Who Cares? Scotland events.

• Regular groups and events, as well as planning meetings.
• Groups will be held fortnightly, on Wednesday 4.30-6pm
To assist in the smooth running of the ECHC hospital shop by supporting with deliveries. Tasks will include:
Moving deliveries from service yard to storeroom.
Bringing stock from storeroom to shop.
Replenishing stock in the shop.
Helping to storage keep areas tidy.
Volunteering is a fantastic way to make a difference to the life of someone else. It can also be an incredible opportunity to enhance your own life and build new skills to help your personal and career development. Our drivers provide transport for people affected by Cystic Fibrosis to hospital appointments. Our clients do not need any physical help getting in and out of the vehicle. Children and young people with Cystic Fibrosis have to attend clinic appointments in hospitals to have their health monitored, usually every three months.
Traveling in public transport poses risks of infection and waiting for transport in our typical inclement weather is undesirable because of their chronic lung condition. Our drivers provide transport from home ensuring a safe and comfortable journey. This service makes a real difference by reducing some of the pressure on families at this time.
We are now seeking to appoint a Volunteer Director to work alongside the Board. This is a strategic role, responsible for ensuring that there is coherence across all the companies activity. The role will provide leadership in the areas of business planning, partnership development, and fundraising, and overall management of AAH programme.
