If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you! 1st Portlethen Scout Group is seeking dedicated volunteers to join our team of volunteers as uniformed Scout Leaders, also known as Team Members. This role is designed to provide young people with valuable life skills, outdoor experiences, and fun activities. In each section, our team of volunteers: • Plan (together or individually once every 4-5 weeks) and deliver (with the team) a great programme once a week - sharing the load, respecting your time and capitalising on your skills. • Contribute to a great culture for volunteers and members. • Ensure scouts is a safe environment for everyone. • Contribute to admin getting done, such as keeping member records, sorting out kit and badges. • Keeps everyone in the loop. We are seeking Trustees to join our Board, and in particular someone to take up the role of Secretary. We also have opportunities for a Trustee to lead our Fundraising Team (assisted by our parent group)
A Trustee of Tweedbank Early Learners will work with other trustees, the nursery management team, staff members and volunteers to ensure the charity is carrying out its intended purpose which is to provide the highest quality Early Learning and Childcare for children and families in our local and wider community.

We are seeking ESOL volunteers to support the running of ESOL classes:
Social ESOL at Cranhill Development Trust – Mondays 10:30 – 12:30

To provide support in the delivery of ESOL classes at a range of levels

This is an opportunity to get involved in all aspects of stable work - tacking, grooming, leading horses in the school or side walking with riders. Some riders need more assistance than others depending on their ability. It would be helpful if you have an outgoing personality and are able to adapt quickly to different situations. This is a wonderful rewarding opportunity for someone to help us continue to provide a high level of service for our clients. Volunteers will be invited for a short tour of the centre followed by a half-day induction the next week. (Angus border)
We are seeking kind people to help run a cooking class and teach recipes you like to share! If you don't feel comfortable teaching a class, you could show your cooking/baking skills at our Youth Club, Phoenix Club and/or Pensioners Club!
The classes are built around you: age group, number of participants and length of the classes.
It's a great opportunity to gain confidence and skills!
All our volunteering classes are free for our members.

We are recruiting a team of Charity Ambassadors to help develop engagement across each Region, to maximise opportunities to raise funds and increase support from the Community. You will be actively involved with The Charity on the ground and play a key role working alongside the Regional Community Fundraisers, as and when required:
- Identifying various opportunities in your local area to raise awareness of The Charity & our wide range of Fundraising Campaigns. This could anything from contacting your local supermarket’s ‘Community Champion’ and organising an information stand and bucket collection or supporting a Supporter Group meet up in your area.
- Representing The Charity in your area, by undertaking presentations & cheque collections at schools, local companies & community groups
- Helping us to recruit new fundraisers and supporting those who are already signed up for a campaign, in your area. For example, attending a local Twilight Walk or promoting The Big Bake to local companies.
We’re looking for people who are:
- Passionate about the Charity and our vision
- Flexible and willing to get involved as and when opportunities arise
- Confident and comfortable in undertaking presentations to a wide range of audiences
- Skilled at spotting new opportunities to raise awareness and funds
- Friendly, approachable and able to communicate at all levels
- A team player, who is also able to work on their own initiative

Time commitment
Initially, we envisage a minimum of 2 or 3 days per month, depending on the regional focus, and this will also be guided by whether you are researching new awareness raising opportunities in your area, or setting up a school presentation for example. Flexibility if a key part of the role as we are often presented with exciting opportunities to raise awareness or funds, at short notice.
Practical considerations
You will receive training from the Community Fundraising Team and ongoing direction from a Regional Community Fundraiser, who will be your key contact. We carry out reference checks for all individuals who will be volunteering with us on a regular basis. Volunteers will be required to complete some internal data protection and disclosure documentation before commencing the role. Volunteers must be over 18. We encourage volunteers to claim for any reasonable expenses that are incurred in the course of their volunteering with the Charity.
Would you like to support someone through their cancer journey?
Tayside Cancer Support offers a free, confidential, one-to-one befriending service for those affected by cancer in the Tayside area and help establish support groups which offer a valuable network for people facing a diagnosis of cancer either themselves or in a loved one. In addition, we provide specialist Mindfulness courses for anyone affected by cancer.
Our volunteers are the key to the Charity’s success. Everyone has skills that can be put to good use! If you think you’d like to get involved whether with our fundraising activities and events; getting involved with hospital visits or within our drop in support groups, we would love to have a chat with you.
Home-Start Angus volunteers offer a regular home-visiting service to young families who are experiencing difficulties or feel they are not coping. During the home visits they offer support, friendship and practical help. In offering support Home-Start volunteers are alongside families doing things “with” and not “to” them. All of us in Home-Start recognise that bringing up young children is not easy and a little reassurance and praise can go a long way!
This role requires a high level of commitment and reliability and will be supported by the Home-Start Angus Co-ordinators.
Home-Start volunteers are expected to work towards the increased confidence and independence of the family by:
• Offering support, friendship and practical help
• Visiting the families in their own homes, where the dignity and identity of each individual can be respected and protected
• Reassuring families that difficulties in bringing up children are not unusual
• Emphasising the positive aspects of family life
• Developing a relationship with the family in which time can be shared and an understanding developed
• Encouraging parents' strengths and emotional well-being for the ultimate benefit of their own children
• Encouraging families to widen their network of relationships and to use effectively the support and services available in the community
This roles requires the following commitment:
• Initial Course of Preparation, normally lasting 24 hours over a number of weeks
• Minimum of 2 - 3 hours per week according to the family's needs
• Regular support and supervision
• Ideally a commitment of 12 months or more
This is exciting and rewarding voluntary work which requires energy, commitment, reliability, creativity and a sense of humour. All volunteers can expect the support of the Co-ordinators, other volunteers and the Board of Trustees, and, through the Co-ordinator, other professionals involved with the family. The Board of Trustee’s membership includes 2 representative volunteers. There are also opportunities for self development and social contact with others in Home-Start.
In response to the pressures of the pandemic, NHSGGC have developed a mobile staff Rest & Recuperation Hub to support staff wellbeing. The mobile hub will visit all six Health & Social Care Partnerships in the NHSGGC area on a rotational basis. We will be coming to Renfrewshire between 21st - 24th November (locations will be at Johnstone Town Hall, Dykebar Hospital & Renfrewshire Health Centre).
The hubs provide a staff only area with complimentary hot drinks and a place to eat, rest and take time away from work. The mobile hub should in many ways replicate the success of our R&R Hubs our 5 main Acute sites.
The purpose of the volunteer role is to support the effective running of the Mobile Hub and to provide a warm welcome to staff and visitors making use of the space.
1)Welcome all staff members coming to the Mobile HUB
2)Engage with staff by chatting and providing a listening ear where appropriate
3)Help manage the HUB space, keeping it clean and tidy
4)Prepare and serve complimentary refreshments
5)Manage stock such as newspapers and snacks to ensure an adequate supply at different times of the day
6)Help foster a relaxed and welcoming environment

Kiltwalk are looking for one or two Back Markers to walk 9.3 miles from Tentsmuir Forest to Slessor Gardens. This is a truly rewarding role which involves walking with the last walkers and encouraging them over the finish line. It also involves updating the control room on the progress of the walk and helping with the removal of event signage.
The shift time is 3pm - 9pm. Transport can be provided from Slessor Gardens to Tentsmuir Forest for the start of your shift. We will also provide uniform, lunch and refreshments.
Kiltwalk is Scotland’s largest mass participation walking event with over 145,000 people taking part since 2016. The kind-hearted Kiltwalk community have taken big strides for charities close to their hearts and together with The Hunter Foundation have managed to raise a staggering £42.5 million to date. All funds raised have been distributed to 3,330 Scottish Charities.
Our walkers rely on the encouragement and motivation they receive from our volunteers and many report that this is what ultimately gets them across the finish line. Be part of a feel-good event, soak up the Kiltwalk atmosphere and meet like-minded people. You will also have the opportunity to develop new skills and gain valuable experience in the events industry. It truly is a rewarding day!
