Admin Support Volunteer

Due to increased demand, we are looking for a volunteer to help us with our admin and events. Working closely with the CEO, during hours to suit the volunteer and based in our Kingseat office or at home (with regular meetings with the CEO for support), the volunteer would oversee the general administration of the charity, support our event management and help with fundraising. Training and support will be given to help with skills development in all areas of admin, event management and fundraising and the hope is that the post may become a paid staff post in the future.

Angus Cycle Hub encourage people to live healthier lives and reduce car journeys and CO2 emissions through cycling and recycling. We run two community based projects based in Arbroath and Dundee, Scotland. We are committed to our community and want them involved in everything we do at Cycle Hub which is why we love volunteers! We have a variety of roles of varying lengths of commitment time. Whatever your background, identity or ability, there’s a volunteer spot with your name on it. We have a list of volunteer roles you can choose from, but we are ultimately flexible around you and your available time commitment, experience, interests and goals. We want to make sure we find something that fits you best and offers opportunity for growth, development and progression with us. In the past, our volunteers have supported us at our events, in our shops and workshops, and with our Bikeability program in schools. This is an extremely important role within the organization and carries a lot of responsibility. As an events volunteer, you will be given endless opportunities to develop your skills by working alongside us. It’s also a great way to take a front-line approach to getting involved with the Cycle Hub and share our passion for bikes with others. You will have the opportunity to work alongside our team during the live delivery of our events e.g. Dr Bike, Maintenance Session Classes, Smoothie Bike rental, Pump Track, Crazy Bikes rental. We also run Clubs, Camps and Bike Maintenance in schools. Options include: - Marshalling/Hands on at the likes of Dr Bike, Maintenance Sessions, Smoothie Bike, Pump Track, Crazy Bikes, Trail Leading, Recycles Future Projects (Clubs, Camps and Bike Maintenance in schools) - Logistics Help With most of our Volunteer Opportunities there is opportunity to develop the experience further should you wish. We provide training to help you do this.

Volunteers welcomed to support Live Borders curators, archivists and educators. Tasks vary from contributing information, research and digitising resources for Borders Collections Online database, to helping at events/exhibitions or supporting on-site conservation, cataloguing and storage projects. Role Description : Volunteers can get involved in a range of ways to help our team deliver priority programmes in museums/archives work. We have opportunities available working either remotely (online) and in our Museums/Galleries plus Heritage Hub archive, located across the Scottish Borders area. Skills/Experience Required: We are looking for volunteers with a diverse range of skills and subject interests. Our collections and database projects cover everything under the sun from textiles, photography and local history, to natural sciences, art and motorsport. Current projects involve assisting with cataloguing, inventories, storage/labelling and digitising of 150,000 historic objects, artworks and images. In addition, volunteers can also support our team in the care and conservation of collections on-site and help with associated research topics. We also have opportunities for volunteers to assist at events or invigilate at exhibitions. Volunteering can be either digital/online work for collections database and research work, or site-based at museum/archive area offices located in Hawick, Peebles, Duns or Selkirk. Hours to be arranged by agreement, minimum commitment of 3 months required.

Berwickshire Swap Volunteer

Help fight poverty and create a circular economy in your own community. Role Description : Berwickshire swap are looking for volunteers for a number of roles; The first, is to assist with the laundering of and packing of emergency packages. Clothes for our emergency packages are donated to us in used conditions so need laundered. Volunteers would be provided with soap powder, and asked to wash, dry, iron and pack the packages. The volunteers would either drop the packages off or they would be collected. BS holds events. At these events we need people with moving our donations from their location to an event. Then setting up the event, sorting and putting out the clothes, toys and items. We then need people to sort clothing coming in. At the end of an event we need people to help pack up and move the items back to storage. BS also needs people between swaps to help with sorting donations. These events are currently held in Reston Village hall.
