Love music, films or gaming? We’re looking for knowledgeable and enthusiastic volunteers to help sort, price and display our wide range of donated CDs, DVDs and games. This is a flexible opportunity to share your love of music or film, to get a taster of a career as a retail assistant and help the British Heart Foundation beat heartbreak forever. *Say hello to the team: Funding for researchers begins at your local charity shop. Now, more than ever, we are in urgent need of volunteers to enable us to continue our life saving research and help the 7.6 million people in the UK living with heart and circulatory diseases. This wouldn’t be possible without our fantastic volunteers. Our team is welcoming and friendly, and we love meeting people from all walks of life. *Typical tasks include: · Sharing your love of music and film whilst serving on the shop floor · Keeping our music and entertainment department fully stocked and organised behind the scenes in our stock room and on the shop floor · Sorting out donations of CDs, DVDs and games and checking discs for scratches, recycling those that are damaged · Following our guidelines to value and price donated CDs, DVDs and games *You get a lot from volunteering too: · A chance to work in a friendly team, make new friends & meet a diverse group · The feel-good factor of helping the British Heart Foundation beat heartbreak forever · The time to develop your confidence and interpersonal skills · The ability to gain valuable retail experience to add to your CV and learn new skills · Flexibility to fit with your lifestyle around your other commitments · Reasonable travel reimbursed in agreement with the Manager · 25% volunteer discount on donated goods (Please note - we are unable to accept volunteers aged under 16 and we cannot accept volunteers with unspent criminal convictions or who are subject to criminal registers/orders.) *Here's a little bit more about us: The BHF is here to Beat Heartbreak Forever. We are working towards a world free from the fear of heart and circulatory diseases. By 2030, we want to see advances across the spectrum of heart and circulatory diseases; to prevent these conditions from developing and we want those with existing conditions to have better, longer lives. *COVID precautions: We are COVID-secure, following current Government guidance. We provide sneeze screens at till-points, hand sanitiser, disinfectant and face coverings. Retail Cashier Sales Assistant Volunteers

Retail Stock Room Assistant Volunteers

If you’re a keen rummager and like things to be neat and tidy, then we have a role for you - helping in our retail stock room to sort the fantastic donations we receive behind the scenes. If you love a bit of ironing, then master the steamer and watch those wrinkles disappear (it’s surprisingly therapeutic!) or become a tagging extraordinaire, allowing customers to understand what item they are purchasing. Whether you’re a lover of vintage clothing, films, books, vinyl records or stunning jewellery – or perhaps you just fancy the company of other friendly volunteers away from the shop floor whilst making a difference - our retail stock room role is the place to be behind the scenes. *Say hello to the team: Funding for researchers begins at your local charity shop. We’d love for you to join our busy, diverse and fun team at Stella’s Voice Aberdeen Charity Shop, if you’ve got a “can do” attitude, are excited about charity retail and keen to gain new skills. We’re looking for volunteers to help with sorting through donations, price items, dress windows and assist customers. No previous experience is needed, all training will be provided. We ask for a minimum of 2 hours commitment a week. A fantastic opportunity to help. Events Volunteer - Inverurie, Banchory & Mintlaw

Full Description: The role of a Clan EVENTS VOLUNTEER is essential in helping to generate the funds needed for us to provide our vital support services to people affected by a cancer diagnosis in your local community. You could be asked to get involved in a variety of activities, whether it’s manning a cheering point on one of our runs, walks or cycles, helping to welcome guests at our annual lunch or ball, or providing information at one of our open days. Typical activities include: • Helping to prepare for an event – this might involve preparing information and signage, setting up routes for runs/walks/cycles, sorting displays and activities, moving chairs and tables, putting up gazebos etc. • Providing a warm and friendly welcome to all attendees of Clan events, answering any questions and encouraging people to get involved in the event/activity • Assisting at larger scale events such as the Clan Ball or Clan Lunch – this might involve manning the car park, directing attendees to the right location, providing information, running stalls, assisting with activities, selling tickets or accepting donations • Working together with other volunteers and Clan staff to ensure the best possible experience for our events attendees/participants and signposting where appropriate • Helping to raise awareness of Clan services Role Commitments: • Working on an ad-hoc basis at events for either a few hours, part of the day or a whole day as required (time commitment would be discussed in advance of an event) and on occasions be flexible and available to help at short notice Essential Skills and Experience Required: There are no prerequisites for this role in terms of professional qualifications and Clan will provide you with the relevant on-the-job training and support to assist you within your role. We value personal experience and would welcome applications from anyone without the preferred skills and experience but who is passionate about making a difference and supporting local people in their community. In return for your help at our events, Clan will: • Aim to ensure that volunteering with us is a fulfilling and worthwhile experience. You’ll have support from staff, with the opportunity to gain and develop skills and meet with other volunteers. • Clan will provide you with any essential kit that you might need (such as a tabard, clip board etc) but you will be required to dress appropriately for the task and conditions. For example if manning an information tent on a frosty Winter morning you would need to ensure you wear warm clothing, or if standing outside in the sun handing out water on a hot summer day you would need to bring appropriate sun screen. • Reimburse expenses you incur whilst volunteering in accordance with our Expenses Policy

Retail Volunteer

There are opportunities to work front or back of house in retail operations in Leith, Stockbridge and Morningside from till work to merchandising and window dressing. The back shop is where all the preparation happens, with the sorting, steaming and labelling of items for sale. There are roles in social media cover, general housekeeping, admin, gift aid promotion, brand research and customer care. Warehouse - sorting of donations

Customer Service Volunteers

Foodbanks in Aberdeen provide emergency food and vital support to local people experiencing crisis in Aberdeen City. Every day people go hungry for reasons ranging from redundancy, poverty to receiving an unexpected bill on a low income. The Food Banks Partnership Aberdeen coordinates food banks in the city while guiding users towards services that can help prevent people becoming reliant on these resources. Partners include, Community Food Initiatives North East (CFINE), Instant Neighbour Trust and Aberdeen Cyrenians. As well as providing emergency food, all partners are committed to promoting employment, signposting to money advice, debt management and household budgeting services, and other sources of support to develop resilience and help people to move on and out of poverty. We are currently recruiting Customer Service Volunteers to help as part of the Food-Bank volunteer team in welcoming, meeting and greeting customers, preparing and selling a range of items assist in our vital work.
