We are looking to provide a safe, friendly and fun place for the young people of Castlehill, Brucehill and Westcliff to socialise with their peers.
We are looking for someone to come along to our Youth Cafe to assist our youth leader with activities for local young people. Activities include; playing pool, art, football, computer games, workshops and making food and drink. If you are creative, active or just passionate about youth work we want to hear from you. Your role will involve planning activities and making suggestions to the youth leader. You will interact with the young people and be able to manage their behaviour positively and effectively. You will also be a key role model for our young people inspiring them and challenging them to be their best selves. You will also ensure that The Phoenix is a safe inclusive environment for everyone regardless of age, gender, sexuality, race or religion.
As part of your role we require that you follow the Phoenix guidelines and operating procedures ensuring the highest standards of safeguarding and Health and Safety are followed at all times
We are looking for someone to assist in our cafe and kitchen area at The Phoenix. You should be warm and welcoming and have a friendly manner. You will be required to serve hot and cold drinks, cakes and other food items and help out in the kitchen at times in the production of food. As a Cafe Assistant you will ensure that payments are taken and accurate change given, that the cafe areas are kept clean and tidy and that you work as a team with the other volunteers and cafe manager.
As part of your role we require that you follow the Phoenix guidelines and operating procedures and maintain the highest standards of Health and Safety and food hygiene at all times

Tarbolton Community Council is a voluntary organisation made up of local residents, each with a genuine interest in the community. Their main role is to be representative through consultation with the local community, and make it known to the local authority and other public bodies the views of local people on all matters affecting them.
If you're interested to help out our community in Tarbolton doing various tasks depending on what's happening in our village. Some tasks may include:
- Gardening
- Participating in events
- Maintaining public areas
- and any other tasks that might be needed by the TCC
We welcome all volunteers, even if it is just for a couple of hours a week or a month. We would also welcome any suggestions and ideas which could benefit our community.
Hospitality is an important part of Hot Chocolate Trust (HCT). The team eat together before each of our youth work sessions, with meal times being a key time to connect as a team and prepare for youth work. We are looking for volunteers to cook team meals. This opportunity will involve catering to dietary requirements, having meals ready on time, and maintaining food hygiene standards. Our youth work sessions take place on Tuesday & Wednesday evenings, and Saturday afternoons. We are looking for a minimum commitment of once monthly, unless volunteers are keen to commit to more than this. Volunteer cooks are welcome to join the team for the meal if they would like to, however this is not required.
Do you care about reducing food waste and have a couple of hours free a week? Why not help Greener Orkney with the Kirkwall, Stromness or Dounby community fridges?
The community fridge aims to reduce the amount of food waste going into landfill and will be stocked with ‘use by’ and ‘best before’ food given by the supermarkets and local businesses. Donations from the public are also accepted under certain circumstances.
As a community fridge volunteer you will be:
· picking up the food from the supermarket (if you have transport)
· Weighing and sorting the food
· assisting members of the public coming to take food away

To assist in the running of our cafe. there are many different jobs within our community cafe. Can assist in any of the following serving food, taking orders, clearing tables, assisting in the kitchen or helping setup or clear up.
Willing volunteers to help with tea/coffee and general kitchen duties, wash-up etc at a pensioners lunch club in Wick on Wednesdays
Our vision for Social Suppers is simple, we want to be able to provide delicious and nutritious food to people who are currently homeless or experiencing food poverty. We believe in meeting people’s basic needs for food and shelter, and at the same time as building positive relationships providing individuals with opportunities to make the changes they want to make in their lives.
*Why we need you:
To volunteer alongside Social Bite staff and a team of volunteers to provide regular hot meals and support to people affected by homelessness (on a Thursday afternoon).
*What will I be doing?
• Volunteering with Social Bite shop staff to prepare the shop and get food and drink set up for each evening session.
• Welcoming people to the shop. Being a friendly face and talking to them about how they are doing.
• Passing on information to people about how they can access services provided by our partner charities e.g. housing/benefits advice, courses, drug/alcohol support.
• Cleaning and tidying up at the end of the service.
*Relevant training and excellent support is provided to all volunteers. Including:
• Food Hygiene training (can be done remotely through our online training portal)
• Induction with a staff member
• The chance to complete a trial session to see if volunteering suits you.
• A training evening, where you will be shown how we run the sessions plus information about the local services that our homeless visitors can access.
• One to one support from a designated staff member as and when you need it.

Our Christmas Eve and Day allows people to sit in, have a Christmas meal and to not be alone this Christmas.

Aberdeen Arts Centre is an independent arts venue and registered charity in the heart of Aberdeen, Scotland — delivering a varied programme of theatre, dance, music, spoken word, comedy, film and creative learning events.
We are currently looking for volunteers. You can combine all three of the roles below or partake in just one area that interests you.
Opportunities to Volunteer include:

Front of House volunteers are responsible for greeting the audience, showing them to their seats and ensuring their well-being throughout the evening.
Café and Bar volunteers serve customers drinks and snacks before the show and in the interval. The bar may also remain open after the show for customers to stay and relax.
Full training will be provided for each position and you will be supported by our experienced team of current volunteers and staff throughout your time with us. Whether you can commit to several nights a week or only a few nights a month, we'd love to hear from you!
