Home 2 Hospital is a newly registered charity, set up by a group of volunteers, which is mirrored from three existing charities in different local areas. Our joint mission is to help cancer patients attend medical appointments on time and ease their stress by being chauffeured in comfort by our friendly and caring volunteers. Our service is easily accessible and completely free for all patients. We need to build a team of 20 -25 volunteer drivers to support the anticipated demand for this service with the Larbert & Stenhousemuir community. The client and the driver will agree what time to leave in order to arrive at the hospital on time. The driver will usually wait at the hospital until the client has received their treatment and once finished head straight home. This reduces stress as the client doesn't have to leave early to accomodate other patients or wait until everyone is finished before heading home. Travelling by car is more comfortable than a minibus and also reduces the infection risk for clients who may have a weakened immune system. Drivers will be trained on the routes and parking places at hospitals.
