Description

The Employability Team work to increase employment opportunities for refugees by offering one-to-one support sessions and a training programme in partnership with employers. We engage with employers, partner organisations and training providers to influence recruitment practices and reduce the barriers to employment faced by refugees.

This position is a diverse role and ideal for someone who likes working with both people and information. The Employability Project Volunteer will have an opportunity to undertake a wide range of tasks to support the delivery of the Employability team.
What will I be doing?

Support the organising of training programmes, and assist in the delivery by providing digital support and co-facilitate small group activities (online and face-to-face)
Contact clients by phone and email for appointments, training opportunities, gathering information, and follow-up calls
Research and screening of employers/businesses
Collect evidence from casework activities and writing case studies
Create monthly employability newsletter with information provided
Assist with the promotion and evaluation of Scottish Refugee Council employability training programmes
Supporting the wider team e.g. with research projects and training support.

Experience required: Researching and data analysing skills Good communicator An understanding of and commitment to refugee’s issues Competent computer skills, with experience in using outlook, word and excel Resourceful, organised and excellent attention to detail Proactive and enthusiastic with the ability to work to deadlines and on own initiative A team player with a collaborative working style Reliable and flexible, with a willingness to take on a range of tasks Keen to learn and develop new skills
