Haven Products, a Scottish company, social enterprise organisation and registered charity, is seeking an independent Non-Executive Director preferably with knowledge of Scottish Enterprise, Government and Commercial businesses. Haven Products is a subsidiary company of the Rehab Group, an Irish organisation which is a social enterprise business and registered charity. As Haven Products is registered as a charity the appointed Non-Executive Director will also operate as a Charity Trustee. Ayrshire Tigers PFC is a community-based Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO) based in Ayr which works in partnership with the Scottish Powerchair Football Association (SPFA) to provide equal opportunity for powerchair users in Ayrshire to engage in team sport. The Club is an independent organisation run by its own Board of Trustees which is elected by its members. The club is focused on providing opportunities to play, coach and support powerchair football and is open to everyone. The team is currently playing in the Scottish Powerchair Football Premiership. The Club was formed to benefit powerchair users living in Ayrshire to engage in team sport and prevent isolation by offering a place for people to come and feel welcome, have fun and be part of a team. Ayrshire Tigers PFC is seeking to recruit suitably experienced and qualified people onto our Board of Trustees. This is a rewarding opportunity to join the founding charity trustees of Ayrshire Tigers Powerchair Football Club, to help it develop, grow and become sustainable. In an increasing challenging financial environment, we are seeking to increase our working partnerships, improve our effectiveness, continue to develop creative approaches to meet need and increase our income. To help achieve this, we are seeking new volunteer Board Trustees, particularly those with an appropriate level of the following knowledge, skills or experience:  Grant Funding Applications  Fundraising  Marketing (selling and promoting the club in the community)  Admin  Social Media  Club Development As a trustee you will help to set and maintain the charity’s vision, mission and values. You will also help to ensure that the charity: • pursues its charitable purposes as defined in its Governing Document • complies with relevant legislation or regulations • works towards sustainability by developing a funding strategy • maintains the financial stability of Ayrshire Tigers PFC, • resources are well managed and used effectively. As a trustee you will also be involved in appointing and supporting Ayrshire Tigers PFC volunteers. New Trustees should be able to attend at least 75% of meetings per year, actively participate, to read papers in advance of meetings and participate in other tasks as arising from time to time. It is important to note that no one individual is responsible for the governance of the charity, rather we act collectively and make decisions based on collective responsibility. Not had experience as a trustee? Don’t worry - We have support in place to support all new trustees. A full UK driving license is desirable but not essential. Role of the Board The role of the Board is to provide oversight of the organisation, ensuring that VAS fulfils its duties and delivers on its vision, mission and strategic objectives. The Board will work closely with the operational team, who are responsible for achieving Board objectives. What’s involved? The positions on the Board are voluntary and unpaid. Directors are expected to attend Board meetings, currently every six weeks in the evenings (approx. two hrs), attend the AGM and be willing to represent VAS at occasional events. There is no set term of office but we aim to have Directors serve for at least one informal term of three years to allow for continuity. While our organisation needs a robust governance framework in place to guide its activities, being a member of the Board is not intended to be overly burdensome in either time or resource commitment. General Responsibilities The Board of Directors are both jointly and individually responsible for the overall governance and strategic direction of the organisation, its financial health, its operational delivery, and for developing the organisation’s aims, objectives and goals in accordance with the governing document, legal and regulatory guidelines.

This is a key role within our team as an unfunded rescue we rely on our events and donations to support the continued running of the charity. We are currently recruiting for volunteer(s) to join the board as a Trustee to lead our fundraising efforts and take responsibility for our fundraising/events and be involved in management activities. In addition the Trustee will sit on our Board to ensure the charity is run efficiently and in accordance with our constitution and purpose. The successful applicant will be expected to commit a minimum of 6-8 hours per week to their volunteering and trustee duties. Volunteer Role Summary You will be a passionate individual with experience in fundraising and/or event management and an interest in animal welfare. You will be organized with excellent communication skills, able to write engaging and professional appeals and be confident picking up the phone to follow-up on potential leads. You will be confident using social media platforms to research and promote our events. You will be confident working with a team of enthusiastic volunteers and ensuring individuals are completing actions as promised. You will be a team player, communicating and obtaining feedback from the trustees and our general manager. Volunteer Responsibilities • Investigate and bring creative ideas for fundraising to the table • Oversee and promote fundraising campaigns establishing the actions required for success of the event and where these are delegated, providing oversight. Bring feedback for each event back to the trustee team. • Liaise with General Manager to ensure appropriate staffing levels are available for events and that preparations are completed in a timely manner • Commit to organizing and hosting at least one local event per quarter – includes booking locations, advertising, coordinating with volunteers, venue set-up and promotion of the event. • Outreach to organisations for donations to be used at charity events for auctions, tombolas, prizes etc. • Able to visit Ayr site at least every 2 months (and prior to/ following events) to sort, collect and return event supplies. • Ensure updates and trackers are maintained on the charities online workspace Skills • IT competence (including Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Publisher etc.) • Excellent written and verbal communications skills, • Fundraising/event experience preferred • Marketing experience (not critical but must be competent with social media) • Ability to operate within a small, passionate leadership team, • Ability to motivate and encourage volunteers.
