Description

Dunfermline and West Fife's very own Heritage Railway project, Lathalmond Railway Museum, is looking for volunteers for their newly refurbished museum displays. By becoming a Museum Guide, you will join an enthusiastic team preserving the railway heritage of Fife.
As a Museum Guide, you will greet members of the public as they arrive, show them around the museum displays, explain the history of the railways, and answer any questions that they may have. This is the ideal role if you enjoy engaging with members of the general public and would like to gain experience as a museum guide.
The museum is open to the public every Sunday from April until the first weekend in October.

Organisation aims and objectives

Dunfermline and West Fife's very own Heritage Railway project, Lathalmond Railway Museum is located to the north of Dunfermline, on a shared site with the Scottish Vintage Bus Museum. With 2 operational railway lines operating frequently.

The museum is open to the public 12:30 - 4:30pm every Sunday, and volunteers can commit as many weekends as they wish.

Restrictions

Experience required: No previous experience is needed for this role. Volunteers should be enthusiastic and interested in learning about the history of the museum and imparting this to others.
Travel details: The museum is at M90, Commerce Park, Lathalmond, Dunfermline. It has parking available.
Minimum age: 18
