Description

Would you like to raise money to support local families?
Team Jak is looking for volunteers to help out with their fundraising events – hosting stalls, attending community events, placing and managing collecting cans in local businesses, and any other activities that you would like to get involved with.
As a fundraising volunteer, you will raise money to support young cancer patients and their families to have a safe place to go to explore their interests and feelings.
This role is very flexible, and volunteers can get involved with events in their own area.

Organisation aims and objectives

Team Jak Foundation provides practical, social and emotional support to children and young people age 0-25 with cancer and related illnesses, their family, friends and those bereaved.

Events will take place at irregular times and volunteers can choose which to get involved with.

Restrictions

Volunteers under 16 are welcome if accompanied by an adult.
Experience required: Volunteers should be enthusiastic and happy speaking to members of the public about Team Jak.
Travel details: Events take place across Fife and volunteers can get involved in their local area.
Minimum age: 16

Expenses paid: Yes
Expenses details: Expenses paid at 45p per mile or public transport rates.
Training details: Volunteers receive a full induction and have access to Team Jak's training programme. There will always be staff on hand for support.

Walk Leader for social dog walking club

Walkie Dogs is a community based organisation which aims to better its members and the community, with the aid of our canine friends. We are launching summer 2024 with 74 walks across 74 cities, which will meet up every Sunday. The walks will all be based in local parks and other outdoor locations. We are working closely with mental health charities across the UK to ensure all our members have the support for their mental health if needed. We aim to better the community people live in making it a safe, welcoming and friendly experience. Walkie Dogs is volunteer led and we are reaching across to many different volunteer organisations across the UK for any help they can offer in helping us increase our Walkie Dogs family, and help recruit the walk leaders these communities need. We are hoping 30% of our volunteers to be between the ages of 16-21, with the goal to help reduce knife and gang crime across the UK. We need: Between 3-15 walk leaders for each city. Available for 1 hour a week Available for a minimum of 20 Sundays a year A DBS check, or similar credentials depending on location. Each volunteer will receive: Walk Leader Training Signposting Training Access to the Walkie Dogs Website, with all discounts available that are on the website catering for all dog needs Ability to change locations anytime as often as they like and meet other walk leaders and walkers.

Operations Assistant Volunteers

We are offering a rewarding and exciting volunteering opportunity as an Operations Assistant which will play a key role within the MISS charity as it expands and develops. The successful candidate with be working closely with our Operations Manager and responsible for the following: - Sub-committee support - Research potential funding streams to apply for - General administration support - Assist with preparing support packs & posting - Meeting/events coordination Due to the size of team, it's essential that you have excellent communication skills, with an ability to build strong working relationships with stakeholders at all levels. As well as this you will thrive working in a small team and be self-motivated, with a strong work ethic. Like working in any small organisation, you will be required to juggle multiple deadlines, so well-honed organisational skills are essential. And lastly, we're keen to appoint someone who can work with diplomacy, has meticulous attention to detail and possesses a warm and friendly demeanour. The Foundation for Advancement of Child Education and Youth Empowerment (FACEYOUTH) is a charitable organization, committed to improving the lives of youths and children in Aberdeen and overseas, using the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, as a framework for action. The organization had its first charity outreach in 2016 and has over the years, impacted people from underserved communities positively, regardless of age, gender, religion and background. For over 5 years, FACEYOUTH has been supporting individuals, families and communities through our various projects - from awarding full scholarships to indigent students to hosting sessions on Mental Health Awareness, with the aim to relieve disadvantage of any sorts and give people the opportunity to lead fulfilling lives. E-bike Project Volunteer

Do you have an interest in cycling? Would you like to spend time running an e-bike project? Would you like to get experience in e-bike maintenance? Volunteer with us, by supporting our cycling project in Maybole.
