Description

The Mackenzie Centre is a day centre for the elderly where care and support is provided through a range of group and 1:1 activities.
The aim of the Centre is to ensure all clients have an enjoyable and social experience when attending.
Volunteers can assist in a variety of ways to make sure the clients feel welcome and valued.

Activities include:

  • Serving light refreshments
  • Helping with special interest groups
  • Chatting to clients
  • Supporting clients during social outings

Organisation aims and objectives

NHS Highland is one of the fourteen regions of NHS Scotland. Inverness and Nairn is served by Raigmore Hospital and Nairn Town and County.

Frequency and commitment details

1-2 hours per week but we can be very flexible. We also offer study leave for our volunteers who are school or university pupils.

Experience required: - Helpful, friendly and caring - Ability to use own initiative - Confidence in care setting
Travel details: There are vacancies available at the Mackenzie Centre, Inverness.
Minimum age: 16
