Glasgow - Drumchapel Citizens Advice Bureau is a local, independent charity which provides free, impartial and confidential advice and information to give you the tools you need to sort out any issues or problems. We’re at the heart of the community, supporting people who live and work in G1 to G15 and offer several services.

Make a difference at Drumchapel CAB as a Volunteer Social Media Assistant – it can be incredibly rewarding to contribute your time to a cause our community cares about!

We are looking for volunteers interested in social media to help create:
-ongoing content for the Bureau’s social media platforms and
-to keep our social media channels updated with brand focused news, updates and information.
-We are hoping you can also seek out new social media avenues and ways to connect with our community that we haven’t thought of.

Training will be provided through our online learning management system as well in house training on accessing our platforms and using bureau resources and tool kits. Support will be provided by the learning and development coordinator to integrate you into the team and help with all ongoing learning.

Our volunteers come from all walks of life.
All we ask in return is a commitment of at least 6 hours per week, a willingness to learn and dedication for a minimum of 12 months.

Experience required: IT skills and knowledge of using social media
Travel details: The bureau we can be reached by rail to Drumchapel Station and numerous buses eg, 400, 200, 1c, 3, M60, 60, 6A
Minimum age: 18

Expenses paid: Yes
Expenses details: Expenses will be paid of 45p per mile if driving and up to the price of an all day ticket.
Support: Wheelchair Access/Disabled Access Toilet

Books Reviewer

Arkbound are looking for enthusiastic readers to review our wide range of publications. We would be able to provide either a PDF or a hard copy for you to keep. Once the book has been read, we will provide a list of approved sites to publish your review. These reviews would be credited and also available to read on our social media platforms. We are looking for in depth reviews which will make the book attractive to any potential reader; how did it make you feel, what did you like in particular about the book? Social Media Content Creators

The Arkbound Foundation is based upon widening accessibility and diversity within the publishing and media industries. We believe that everyone should be able to participate in the opportunities that both industries offer, regardless of their background or personal circumstances. This could be by way of publishing books, or becoming a journalist. Our three core areas of activity are writing workshops, book publishing and mentoring. We are looking for creative and enthusiastic social media content creators to cover all of our platforms. The content will be used to promote authors, publications and the work the charity does. There is a potential opportunity to oversee a small group of content creators, working together to create themes and videos that will raise the profile of Arkbound Foundation. Support Session Volunteer

Could you support unpaid carers or people with disabilities to access benefits? Could you help someone find local services? Could you help someone understand the information they have been given about their care and support? Could you support or lead a group of people on a topic of interest? You could help improve the quality of someone’s life. This role is ideal for social work students, an interest in the care sector or retired professionals. Support Session Volunteers help our clients with general advocacy, supporting people with a variety of challenges. This helps us to reduce waitlists and support more individuals by: • Helping clients understand about advocacy • Supporting clients to self-advocate with our tool kits • Signposting clients to other services where required • Supporting the service to deliver “collective” advocacy sessions • Light Touch Advocacy • Supporting advocates with casework • Promotion of services and the organisation • Logging activity onto our systems Volunteer, Ben’s priorities changed after a serious illness. “I wanted to give something back. It’s really rewarding as you get to use your knowledge and skills for a really good purpose.” You’ll develop skills in communication and confidentiality, add experience and knowledge to your CV, and know you’re making a genuine difference to people’s lives.
