Description

Dunfermline Foodbank are currently looking for volunteers for their Cowdenbeath and Benarty Foodbanks. They are only looking for you to commit to 2 to 3 hours a week and are flexible with which day you choose. The Foodbanks are open 4-6pm on these days: -

Benarty – Monday – Wednesday – Friday
Cowdenbeath – Tuesday – Thursday

The lack of volunteers in the area is putting these services into jeopardy and the service may need to scale back drastically so if you are keen to help people in crisis in your area then please get in touch with Dunfermline Foodbank on 07580231286 or email info@dunfermline.foodbank.org.uk

Full induction and training will be provided.

Organisation aims and objectives

They provide emergency food supplies to relieve poverty in the short term and they also signpost to sources of advice to relieve poverty in the medium to long term.

Volunteers can choose which day they want to volunteer, and will volunteer for 2-3 hours per week.

Experience required: Volunteers should be non-judgemental and enthusiastic about supporting people in crisis in their area.
Travel details: Benarty Foodbank is based in Brag Enterprises, Main Street, Crosshill, KY5 8BJ. Cowdenbeath Foodbank is based in The Fountain Meeting Rooms, Broad Street, Cowdenbeath, KY4 8JA.

Expenses details: Travel expenses can be discussed on an individual basis.
Training details: Volunteers will be provided with a 2 tier induction which is informal and is really all about telling you about the foodbank and its clients. Volunteers will have a named contact for support.
