Partners in Advocacy is seeking a dedicated Volunteer Fundraiser to play a pivotal role in our journey towards championing human rights and wellbeing across Scotland. By focusing on grants and trusts, your efforts will directly contribute to sustaining and developing our independent advocacy services for children, young people, and adults in need. This is your chance to be part of a meaningful cause, where your skills can make a significant difference in the lives of others.

Location: Enjoy the flexibility of a hybrid role, contributing from home with occasional office visits.

Hours: Commit to 3+ hours per week and make an impact that lasts a lifetime.

The Role:
Create Change: Work alongside senior managers to craft compelling funding bids to trusts and foundations, aiming to secure resources vital for high-quality advocacy support.
Research and Write: Utilise your exceptional research and writing skills to identify potential funding opportunities and articulate the importance of our work.
Collaborate for Success: Engage with our passionate team, coordinating efforts to ensure every application showcases the impact and value of advocating for those we support.
Be an Advocate: Represent Partners in Advocacy as a positive ambassador, spreading awareness and fostering connections that benefit our advocacy partners and their communities.

We Are Looking For:
Individuals aged 16+ with a zeal for human rights and wellbeing.
A background in fundraising, marketing, policy advisory, or related fields is advantageous but not essential.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, creativity, and a keen ability to organise.
Those with lived experience or a deep understanding of the sectors we support – including but not limited to independent advocacy services, children’s hearings, and support through social work or the NHS.

CPR Lead - Scottish Borders

Our CPR Lead will support the delivery of bystander CPR demonstrations to community groups across your local area. The demonstrations are very hands-on - we aim to give people the skills they need to recognise a cardiac arrest and take the appropriate action. We work with schools (from Primary 1 and above), community groups, businesses, and other organisations. Demonstrations are organised and delivered by volunteers. Shetland Cat Rescue Volunteer

A wide range of opportunities are available and include: Fosterers – a spare room to care for a cat until a new home is found. All equipment and food etc provided. Home checkers – visiting prospective new cat owners. Fostering support and co ordination – helping fosterers and organising cat food distribution, equipment etc Equipment inventory – keeping an up to date list of all equipment and its location. Helpline – taking phone calls from the public. Food store coordinator – making sure fosterers have sufficient food of an appropriate type and caring for supplies. Kitten socialising – assisting fosterers to socialise young kittens to meeting different people and get used to them. TNR Trap, Neuter and Return – trapping feral cats, taking them to the vets to be neutered and then releasing them back to site. Involves learning about the colony and getting them used to being fed in a trap; arranging neutering with the vets; keeping the cats safe until fully recovered and able to rejoin the colony; arranging for kittens young enough to be socialised to be fostered. Transport – cats to vets etc; goods and equipment to where needed. Collecting and sorting donated goods. Storing donated goods, equipment and cat food. Fundraiser – to organise fundraising events. On line auctions – organise online auctions of donated goods. Stall helpers – assisting on stalls. Crafts – making crafts to sell. Grant applications – find and apply for appropriate grants and funding. Sunday tea staff – assisting at Sunday teas. Trustee – joining the trustees. Marketing. DIY – DIY skills to help maintain pens and equipment

Group-Co-Ordinator

Across the UK, our 250 local groups play a vital part in supporting people affected by MS. They provide a sense of belonging, unity and friendship. And they deliver services and support for their local MS community. As our local Group Coordinator you‘ll take the lead in making sure your local group works as effectively as possible. You’ll recruit, induct and support other group volunteers to make sure your group’s activities meet the needs of your local MS community. In this role you’ll be able to develop your leadership, management, communication, organisation and motivation skills. Most importantly you’ll help drive change for your local MS community. This role may vary depending on local needs, but is likely to include: • Coordinating the activities of our local group to meet the needs of the local MS community • Coordinating the recruitment, induction and ongoing support of new local group volunteers • Leading the group’s shared responsibility for planning and reporting expenditure and income • Approving income and expenditure with the other group bank account signatories and ensuring with the Finance Volunteer, that our financial requirements and policies relating to groups are followed • Ensuring the group’s activities comply with policies in order to keep people safe • Regularly communicating and acting as a key contact between staff and volunteers • Ensuring disclosure checks are completed and witnessed for volunteer roles that need them • Leading the group's responsibility for designing and delivering services and activities in line with our principles of quality service delivery so that they are safe, effective and impactful SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: You’ll have an interest in the MS Society and the work that we do, as well as the enthusiasm to represent both us and our values locally. You will understand the needs of people affected by MS in your area and be sympathetic to the needs and motivations of volunteers. You’ll be confident using Microsoft Office, the internet and email. You’ll be able to apply disability, equality and inclusion practices and understand and apply our risk management system. Ideally you’ll understand the local area and organisations that provide local services. You will be reliable and easy to contact and you need to live in or near the Shetland area to carry out this role. Finance Manager

Background: Toe Poke CIC is a unique Dumfries based Social Enterprise, which celebrates Scottish Football. Toe Poke Community Interest Company trades in football themed clothing and merchandise, to raise funds for grassroots clubs in Dumfries. The formal community interest company statement is that; The company’s activities will provide benefit to young football players and their clubs in Dumfries, and for football supporters advocacy projects across Scotland. Dumfries now boasts its own clothing brand, Toe Poke, which has enormous potential to grow and develop with the support of local people. The initiative also creates Scotland’s only football fans owned brand. The first range of clothing, now available on the Toe Poke website, www.toepokescotland.com is aimed at fans of our national teams – there is a poverty of choice for Scotland supporters who want to show off their colours, but don’t want to wear replica jerseys. Toe Poke operates on a completely voluntary basis. There are no staff employed by the Company, which is managed by Ian Barr. Ian has a background in economic development and events. Purpose: To manage the Company’s finances and administration linked to all of the Company’s finances. This includes invoicing, checking for orders on the shop rocket e-commerce website and liaising re our orders with Rostrum Sportswear, reporting as required to Companies House and keeping a spreadsheet of our income and expenditure. Benefits: Undertaking this role will contribute to the success and best practice governance of a unique social enterprise. Toe Poke CIC will support you to develop new skills and take part in networking and sales opportunities. The Company will also support the pathway between voluntary work and employment. Tasks: As outlined above in the purpose of the role.
