As a Community Café Volunteer, you will play a vital role in supporting the operations of our café and foster a welcoming atmosphere for our visitors. You will assist in various tasks including customer service, food preparation and café maintenance while upholding our commitment to serving the community.
To provide social and recreational facilities by means of a community hub for the parish of Glencorse and beyond.

Looking for a commitment of a minimum of 2 hours per day of volunteering but can be flexible. There is no minimum commitment but to be offered Food Hygiene training, the volunteer must be committed to volunteering in the Centre for a minimum of 6 months.

Experience required: Interpersonal skills – ability to communicate effectively with diverse customers
Customer Service skills – attentiveness, friendliness, enthusiasm and a willingness to assist colleagues
Team work – collaboration with other staff and volunteers to ensure smooth operations
Basic food handling knowledge
Flexibility – adaptability to changing tasks and responsibilities in a café environment
Positive attitude – a willingness to contribute to the community and make a difference
A genuine interest in supporting the community and a passions for the Glencorse Centre’s mission are valuable attributes for volunteers.
Travel details: 5 minutes’ walk from the nearest bus stop on the A701 which has multiple buses including 140, 141, 37, 47,
X37 and X62.

Training details: Initial informal chat with the staff team, followed by a taster shift in the Café with the lovely Café ladies. This is to see whether it is a good fit for the new volunteer and to help them to feel comfortable in their new environment. Start-up training, including H&S procedures. Ongoing chats and checking in to see how the volunteer is settling in to their new role.
