Join the Oxfam community As a Sales Assistant Volunteer you will be at the till, serving customers as the friendly face of your shop. You will help people facing poverty around the world by giving great customer service and making donors, customers, and supporters feel welcome in our shop. We’ll give you ongoing training and support so that you can feel right at home as part of the Oxfam Community! About this role We will give you all the training and support you need so you will develop your skills as part of our team. You don’t need to have any experience – we’ve got you covered. You can also get some lunch and travel costs too. Whatever you need, we’re here to help. We need your help! Our busy Restart Showroom is busier than ever selling donated items of furniture, household items, electrical goods and bric-a-brac. This helps the planet by reusing and recycling and helps people access low cost items at a time they need it most. If you would like to be a part of our amazing local charity and have some spare time to volunteer, we would love to hear from you. Key activities include: • Meeting and greeting customers in a friendly, welcoming manner • Processing cash and card payments • Scheduling deliveries and collections for our busy van • Responding to queries in person, over the phone and via social media • Sorting, cleaning and merchandising donated goods • Organising eye-catching displays • Uploading photos and item descriptions to social media What could a volunteer gain from the experience: Volunteering at Restart is a great way to meet new people in a busy environment.
