Would you like to gain experience of catering and customer service while helping to support a vital community service?

The Hyperclub offer many activities/services for adults and children with disabilities and their carers, including activity cafes, a sensory room and weekly karaoke. They are looking for a cafe assistant to help with preparing refreshments, greeting customers and serving people within the cafe.

No previous experience is needed, only a positive attitude, as training will be provided.

The Hyperclub offer many activities/services for adults and children with disabilities/difficulties and their carers. They have an activity cafe, sensory rooms and various weekly activities within their Lochgelly centre.

Restrictions

Experience required: Hyperclub are looking for volunteers with a positive attitude and enthusiasm to get involved. Volunteers don't need any specific experience as training will be provided.
Travel details: Hyperclub, 83-85 Main Street, Lochgelly, KY5 9AF.
Minimum age: 14

Expenses paid: Yes
Expenses details: Travel expenses paid for public transport and mileage.
Training details: Volunteers are provided induction training when they start their role, and are offered additional training such as food hygiene on an ongoing basis. Volunteers receive support from their named contact and other volunteers.

Cafe Assistant

On the 20th March 2011 the people of Girvan celebrated the official opening of their community garden. People couldn't believe the transformation of what was once a neglected and overgrown tree nursery. Before we took over the area in 2006/07 it had lain derelict for over 30 years. We knew it had lots of potential and so we decided to ask the community what they thought of turning it into a community garden. The support was overwhelming. As you can imagine there was lots to do to get the area into a state where we could start to design and plant. We relied heavily on volunteers who are the backbone of our community garden. In July 2010 we became part of the Beechgrove Garden Community Garden’s project. They came and filmed us and helped with our design ideas. It finally felt like we were really getting somewhere. After all of the hard work it's wonderful to be able to open the garden up to so many different people. We relish the opportunity to promote gardening and other related activities particularly to those who are new gardeners and young children. We support community well-being and better health through gardening. Events held in the community garden are well attended and supported. We are currently looking for volunteer Cafe Assistants to help us on Saturdays in our Community Garden Cafe. Do you have a few free hours on Saturdays? Serve tea/coffee and other drinks as well as cakes in the brand new cafe at number 30, The Square Hunlty during the Festival of Illustration. Help to clean tables and front of house space. Number 30 is a community building. Festival runs from 28th August to and including 9th September.

Cafe Assistant

We are currently looking for volunteers in our community cafe which works to help reduce loneliness and social isolation. We are looking to extend our opening hours and serve food over lunchtime and are looking for people who already have a Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate or would be willing to obtain one (any costs will be met by 65 Club). You will get to know the customers and build a positive relationship with them. Tasks will include: - Meeting and greeting customers - Food Preparation - Clearing tables and general cleaning - Building a positive relationship with customers.

Cafe Assistant

We have a fabulous opportunity for volunteering in our Community Cafe. The cafe is open to the public Monday through to Saturday each week and is a fantastic place for people to meet, build friendships, combat isolation, and have great food in a friendly environment. We are looking for volunteers for 1 day per week from 12-2pm to help with serving our wonderful customers. Volunteers will have the option to work in the kitchen with the chefs, washing dishes and making sure the kitchen is kept clean and tidy. OR Being out front, customer facing, serving a clearing tables, learning how to use a till or coffee machine. We are super flexible if you would prefer to volunteer more than one day per week, or if you would rather less frequency we are happy to accommodate fortnightly, or once a month volunteers.
