The Foundation for Advancement of Child Education and Youth Empowerment (FACEYOUTH) is a charitable organization, committed to improving the lives of youths and children in Aberdeen and overseas, using the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, as a framework for action. The organization had its first charity outreach in 2016 and has over the years, impacted people from underserved communities positively, regardless of age, gender, religion and background. For over 5 years, FACEYOUTH has been supporting individuals, families and communities through our various projects - from awarding full scholarships to indigent students to hosting sessions on Mental Health Awareness, with the aim to relieve disadvantage of any sorts and give people the opportunity to lead fulfilling lives. There are a great number of ways you can help support the work of FACEYOUTH as a volunteer. Current volunteer opportunities with us include Support Co-Ordinator, Fundraising and Event Volunteers, Marketing Co-Ordinator and PA to our Board. Can you support Carrick Rugby? Do you enjoy hosting parties or small events? Are you a creative person and can multitask to create positive experiences for guests? You might like to volunteer with us as event organisers. You could be doing the following duties: - Researching target audiences to find significant occasions. - Creating and maintaining a budget for the client. - Searching for, booking and organizing adequate locations to host events. - Designing event layouts and agendas, including creating pamphlets or event guides. - Marketing events through advertisements and working with PR professionals. - Training staff or volunteers - Overseeing operations during events and ensuring proper cleanup after it ends - Communicating with vendors to provide suitable resources for the event, including sound and electric equipment, security or stages.

Ayr Rotary Club is one of 46,000 clubs worldwide. We are very active in the local community supporting many charities. Examples of our current projects include a charity cycling event, a Primary Schools careers fair, fundraising for Poppy Scotland, a beach clean, Food bank support, youth pubic speaking competitions, and a charity golf tournament, Members aim to enjoy “fun and friendship while helping others” It’s a great way to meet like-minded people and make long-lasting friendships. Men and women of all ages are welcome, and you choose the type of activities you would like to be involved with. There are lots of different ways to become involved with Ayr Rotary, and you don’t have to become a member. With many projects ongoing, we always require help from non-members. We are currently recruiting volunteer fundraisers to help support our efforts towards the Poppy Scotland 2024 campaign culminating on Armistice Day, 11 November. This volunteering role could involve collecting cash donations in cans for poppies outside supermarkets, or having responsibilities for installing cans and poppies in shops, renewing/refreshing these if required, and collecting cans and banking the cash. This is a seasonal volunteering opportunity mid October to mid November but contributes to important fundraising for Poppy Scotland by Ayr Rotary.
