Description

Save the Children UK is a charity that works in over 100 countries to provide children with essentials, education, health and rights.
Their St Andrews store is looking for volunteers to support at their charity shop, where funds raised, contribute to financing this activity. The shop is busy and there is plenty to get involved in. Typical tasks will involve:
-Sorting and pricing stock
-Engaging with customers
-Handling cash and working the till
-Creating window displays
-Keeping the shop floor looking wonderful

Organisation aims and objectives

We are looking for people to help out in our entirely volunteer led Charity Shop! We aim to raise as much money as possible for Save the Children through fabulous retailing and charitable chattering.

Restrictions

Experience required: Applications from people with a range of skills and experiences are welcome. You don’t need any retail experience; full training will be provided. What is important is that you are a team player, open to learning and willing to follow Save the Children’s policies.
Travel details: Save The Children, 4B Greyfriars Garden, St. Andrews, Fife, KY16 9HG
Minimum age: 18

Expenses details: Reasonable travel costs can be claimed daily, Volunteers to liase with Shop Manager
Training details: All volunteers are welcomed into the shop with open arms. Hands on and online training is also provided.

DEBRA is a national charity and patient support organisation for people living with the rare, extremely painful, genetic skin blistering condition, Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) also known as ‘Butterfly Skin’. EB causes the skin to become very fragile and tear or blister at the slightest touch. With your help we can find treatments and cure(s) for EB. Volunteering in a DEBRA shop can teach you new skills as well as meeting new people and gaining experience in retail. The role involves: - Operating a till to take cash and card payments - Engaging with customers on the shop floor - Replenishing stock on the shop floor - Recording donor details for gift aid - Creating eye catching displays

Shop Volunteer

Main duties: We would love to find some new people to help in our Crown Street charity shop which is open Monday to Saturday. We have teams of volunteers working each day: receiving, unpacking and pricing donations; helping on the shop floor; and serving customers. Ideally volunteers would be able to commit to a full day each week, but even half a day would be welcome.
