(Stornoway) Lunch assistant

  • VO46795

Description

The Stornoway Old Peoples Welfare Association aims to provide an opportunity for older people to get out of the house and enjoy each others company. They meet together for friendship and fellowship. Lunch is provided on Thursdays to help fulfil this need.

The volunteer will help the older people to get more enjoyment out of life. You can do this by giving an hour or two a week to come along to the group and helping prepare and serve lunches or assist with teas. You could also help to stimulate the members with conversation. By giving an hour or two a week you can make a big difference to a lonely persons life.

The role of the volunteer is to help prepare and serve the food, interact with the guests, and clean and tidy up afterwards. This is a practical opportunity for someone to make a difference.
