Assist the local fundraising team in promoting and taking part in a variety of activities to raise money for Guide Dogs. • Street collections on ‘flag’ days • Help on stalls at local events • Take Collection Boxes to local businesses • Attending local events organised by Branches or Community Fundraiser and keeping track of what we sell on our stalls (including the cuddly toys!) • Count donations • Fundraisers are usually members of the local fundraising group

Local Event Coordinator Role As a small charitable organisation, we are seeking a local event coordinator volunteer to support with our local event activities. This is a key role within our team as an unfunded rescue we rely on our events and donations to support the continued running of the charity. The time required will very throughout the month depending on the number and size of the events being planned. Role Summary You will be an enthusiastic individual ideally with experience of fundraising and/or event management and an interest in animal welfare. You will be organized with great communication skills and be confident picking up the phone to follow-up on potential leads. You will be confident using social media platforms to research and promote our events. You will be confident working with a team of enthusiastic volunteers and ensuring individuals are completing actions as promised. You will be a team player, communicating and obtaining feedback from the trustees and our general manager. Volunteer Responsibilities • Investigate and bring creative ideas for fundraising events to the table • Organise and oversee events including: o Co-ordinating with general manager for volunteer support o Working with venues and suppliers o Reaching out for donations and supplies to support the event o Promoting the event to local communities o Set-up of venue o Managing the volunteers on the day o Reporting back to the team on how the event went and any lessons for next time • Commit to organizing and hosting at least one local event per quarter – includes booking locations, advertising, coordinating with volunteers, venue set-up and promotion of the event. • Able to visit Ayr site at least every 2 months (and prior to/ following events) to sort, collect and return event supplies and donations

We are looking for someone to help with fundraising for our charity. Coming up with money making ideas, organising events, helping out at events. Could be anything from 'Soup and Sweet' at local hall to 'quiz sheet' sales at local shops. Any help, support, ideas welcome.
