Description

We have exciting opportunities for volunteers to come along and assist disabled members with various activities. This includes arts, crafts, games, leisure activities, volunteer drivers to mention but a few. There are also opportunities to help with tasks such as driving, escorting disabled people if out on trips etc.

You will be made to feel very welcome as we are a very friendly, dynamic group and expanding organisation. All volunteer assistance is greatly appreciated.

This is a great, enjoyable opportunity to help in the local community, make a positive difference and also the opportunity to develop new skills and interests as well.

Future Choices is a local voluntary charity which supports physically disabled adults by providing a range of social inclusion and recreational activities.

Voluntary Workshop Assistants

As a Voluntary Workshop Assistant you will become part of a team within our farm and gardens, set in beautiful surroundings 5miles outside of Aberdeen city centre and close to the Deeside Railway line. The opportunity does not require you to have previous experience, we just ask that you are caring, patient and willing to help our pupils, have an interest in people and different ways of communications. Our pupils age from 12-25 years old and as part of your position, you will be with them when they attend the various workshops (woodwork, metal, weavery, felt, candle, pottery, bike and Fruver- our food workshop)as part of their personalised daily routines and assist them with their tasks. Training provided in induction and support given throughout the volunteering time within Camphill School Aberdeen. Outdoor Education Assistant

An exciting opportunity to join the Under the Trees team, working in the great and beautiful outdoors whilst gaining valuable experience working with young children and young adults. You will potentially be working in all weathers and in all seasons - we can provide waterproofs! Under the Trees runs fun and educational sessions for school children in the Falkirk and Stirling areas, as well as a programme of public events for all ages, backgrounds and abilities. Events run all year round. As a Volunteer Education Assistant, there will be opportunities for you to do a range of the following: - Assist with Educational Sessions for school groups, including term-time forest schools. - Assist with sessions for the general public, including a monthly nature club for ages 0-13. - Assist with holiday play sessions and family events. - Plan and lead in activities. - Maintain resources effectively. - Keep session areas safe and tidy. - Desk-based activities in planning, creating materials and administration.

Future Choices Youth Volunteers

We have exciting opportunities for young volunteers to come along and assist disabled members with various activities. This includes arts, crafts, games, leisure activities to mention but a few. You will be made to feel very welcome as we are a very friendly, dynamic group and greatly appreciate all help that volunteers give. All young people who volunteer (and are under 25 years of age) also receive Saltire Award certificates for their volunteering contribution. This is a great, enjoyable opportunity to help in the local community, make a positive difference and also the opportunity to develop new skills and interests as well. Knitting Volunteer (Dunblane)

The Retired and Senior Volunteer Programme (RSVP) encourages and supports people aged 50+ to volunteer in their local communities. We are looking for people who are interested in knitting items for charity. We have 2 Knitting Groups, one in Alloa and one in Dunblane. Both meet in person every 3 months and are an opportunity for knitters to get together, make friends, and compare knitting projects. The group offers free wool, advice, and support. Knitters knit various items such as blankets, hats, and scarfs which are donated onto care homes and other charities. Other knitting materials include premature baby clothing which is gifted to the NHS. Knitters choose what they would like to create, and how they would like their knitting to be donated.
