The BME (Black Minority and Ethnic) Homework club is an after school club for families who have English as a second language. Volunteers will be involved in planning, preparing and supervising activities for the children. They will also be working one to one with families and carers, to help them to support their children complete their homework and improve their English. Volunteers will help to prepare snacks and drinks and encourage attendees to engage with activities.
It takes place every Wednesday during term time from 3.30-4.30pm.

2 hours per week 1530- 1630 Wednesday Afternoon.
Experience required: Ideally, the volunteer should have experience in teaching or working with those with English as a second language. They should be friendly, encouraging and outgoing and able to support the staff in implementing health and safety procedures. Please note: this role is subject to a Disclosure check.

Expenses details: Regular volunteers are entitled to claim up to £3.60 per day for travel expenses (£4.50 if multiple buses are required) and up to £3 per day for lunch expenses, providing that they volunteer for 4 hours or more on that day, and that they present their manager/supervisor with the valid receipts
