FareShare Delivery Assistant

Description

We redistribute food, which would end in in waste, to non-profit organisations in Tayside and Fife. These groups then provide meals for people who are experiencing food poverty, social isolation or other hardship.

We need driver's assistants who can give a few hours to help deliver food to our members. This is a vital part of providing a valuable service to thousands of individuals in need. Working as part of a team, the van crew load and unload crated food to local community food members.

If you are reasonably fit and able bodied and can give a few hours you could make a real difference to a project that is so important to so many.

Organisation aims and objectives

Transform Community Development works with vulnerable individuals within the city to provide accommodation, support, advice and opportunities in a variety settings. The organisation also aims to increase public awareness of issues surrounding homelessness through education. All the organisation's services are provided in a non-judgemental way and without prejudice.

Fare4Free was formed in 2016 to: • Provide transport solutions for the Armed Forces Community where public transport is unavailable or not suitable across Scotland. • Reduce missed appointments and ensure the continuation of treatment plans. • To increase wellbeing, reduce anxiety and encourage integration back into the community. They will be responsible for checking their vehicle before and after work and keeping it clean inside and out. VOSDs are our designated area specialists who understand the communities they operate within fully and the wide range of services available to them. They are passionate about getting it right, are able communicators and focused on using their experience to connect people with the help that they need.

Foodbank & Community Volunteers

ROOTs are a grassroots charity that run a foodbank which serves Bonnybridge, Banknock and Denny. We also run free community events to help connect communities, tackle social isolation, promote wellbeing and advance inclusivity. We are a passionate team of volunteers, and we are looking for more help to enable us to keep serving our community! If you have some spare time to support the residents of Bonnybridge and the surrounding areas then we have various opportunities! These include: - Weekly foodbank support, organisation and distribution of our collection-only foodbank. - Driver for our (new!) minibus and for collecting goods for our foodbank. - Community events support, such as helping with the running of our weekly Happy Mondays lunch club If you think you could help in any way then please get in touch!
