As we cover the whole of Carrick (North and South) transport is a huge issue and cost for the club. Could you help us by driving SACT or Community minibuses? This will allow us to offer transport links to rural areas and give young people in these areas the opportunity to participate in our fantastic sport and committed community club. For this role full membership of the PVG scheme is mandatory but we can organise that free of charge. You will be fully supported by our club committee, volunteers and players. The time commitment for coaching is generally approx. 5 hours per week including 1 weekday evening and either Saturday or Sunday mornings during term time, you will primarily be associated with one year group. Over the age of 70, drivers must have completed a PCV medical in order to continue driving any minibus.

The role involves driving one of our Mini-buses to collect clients from their homes in the Greater Glasgow area and bringing them to our site at Milton of Campsie. This is generally Monday to Friday, between 8.30-10.30am. There are also volunteer driver opportunities taking our clients home between 2.30-4.30pm. Silver Birch is a non profit charity and social enterprise who provide work focused training opportunities to adults with learning disabilities mainly through the provision of Social & Therapeutic Horticulture (STH). We also run a small social enterprise garden centre where all takings are reinvested back into our organisation

Aberdeen ENABLE Branch are looking for enthusiastic, committed volunteers to help drive their minibus allowing people with a Learning Disability to attend social events. Aberdeen Branch has been running social activities in the city for nearly 60 years and there are currently around fifty members of the 'Pop Club' which meets fortnightly. The volunteer driver must meet specifications laid out by the DVLA for driving a minibus in the UK. The specific tasks for the role are to follow a run sheet of pickups of ENABLE members in the Aberdeen area, assist escorts in ensuring that people board the bus safely, drive to social activity location, ensure that people disembark safely, repeat process on journey back home. In addition volunteers are expected to fuel minibus (paid for by the Branch) and fill in maintenance check list. Volunteers should also be prepared to store the minibus in a safe location. Throughout the volunteering opportunity you will gain new skills and experience working with people who have a Learning Disabilities, their families and carers. You will also gain practical experience of driving a minibus for a specific group of people. Out of pocket expenses will be reimbursed in line with Aberdeen Branch policy. Why The Care Respite Service needs you: Are you a reliable and friendly individual who is looking to volunteer some of your time in the local community? In the service we support adults with learning disabilities, autism, and physical disabilities. While out with their support workers, the service users enjoy taking part in a range of activities. The service has a minibus which we are looking for a volunteer to drive. This will allow the service users to access local amenities, as well as planned days out further afield! As a Volunteer Driver, you will enable service users to attend activities that they are otherwise unable to access. so, your role will be essential in supporting our service users enjoy meaningful activities. While undertaking your role you will be accompanied by a support worker, who will assist the service user in attending their chosen activity.
