Lunch Club Volunteer

Description

To assist at our Lunch Club at Bield Complex, Lammermoor Rd, Lammermoor Gardens on a Monday from 11.30-1pm approx. Help setting up table, serving food, clearing up dishes to go into dishwasher and spend some time with the clients.

Organisation aims and objectives

Befriending aims to make a difference to the quality of life of people experiencing social isolation due to ageing, disability or other changes in their circumstances. Befriending is a supported relationship between two people: the person who wishes a befriender and a trained volunteer. It can increase choices about the way people spend their time.Through assessment of individual needs the Befriending Team facilitate compatible matches. They have regular contact for an agreed time and engage in social activities which are usually enjoyable to both either in their home or in the community. In addition to face to face befriending we offer contact with a volunteer either by telephone or by letter/email.

Lunch Club Volunteer

The Point Community Cafe is seeking volunteers to help out with the elderly lunch club on a Wednesday. This role is for 2.5 hours only per week. You will be asked to help in the kitchen preparing meals, meeting and greeting our clients, serving hot food and general housekeeping duties. Full training will be given as well as a chance to earn a level 2 food hygiene certificate. You will be joining a much larger team of volunteers within the KLSB Community Group, however, you will be working within a small group. In all of our volunteering roles you will be supplied a uniform, meet new friends and become part of a larger team of volunteers who assist our community. We have regular team meetings where we encourage our volunteers to share their thought and ideas. All training will be given and support will always be available.

Lunch Club Volunteer Drivers

The Caf4e & Company Lunch Club is working with Aberdeen City Health & Social Care Partnership to address the problem of social isolation among older people in Bridge of Don. The Lunch Club runs once a fortnight on Fridays and provides a nutritious hot meal along with activities and entertainment and the opportunity for members and volunteers to socialise and develop friendships. Volunteers benefit as they find themselves involved in a community where they are able to help others but also receive support, encouragement and friendship. We provide a warm and welcoming environment and volunteers are able to choose which tasks suit them best – driving, social interaction & hosting tables, practical tasks, befriending. Lunch Club Volunteer

We are looking for a Volunteer to help deliver our Lunch Club which runs every Monday at the Heart of Newhaven Community Centre. The Volunteer will join a team of very friendly Volunteers and help serve up food, clean dishes and talk with attendees who are mainly there to socialise and be a part of a group. Many of the attendees who come to the Lunch are elderly but we have younger people who come along too. It is a busy role and the Volunteer needs to be available from 11.30 am to 2.30pm.

Islesburgh Lunch Club Volunteer

This is an opportunity to work as part of a team, learn new skills and make new friends. The role consists of working with three other volunteers to serve lunches at our R.V.S Lunch Club held at Islesburgh daily. Islesburgh lunch club runs from Monday to Fridays and is open 12-1, Volunteers arrive in advance to set up tables and stay a short while after to clear away the tables. Duties include: Collecting orders / handling money / serving meals / setting up and clearing down tables / chatting with older people / offering dementia friendly support / reporting any concerns of an older persons welfare.
