Kirkcaldy Rugby Club is looking for volunteers to assist with catering on matchdays. You can get involved with: - preparing refreshments - making food, normally sandwiches and light bites - serving customers and members - cleaning up at the end of the session If you like working with food or would like to gain more experience of catering, while getting involved with a friendly and fun team, this could be the role for you. No experience is needed as full training and support will be provided.

Our vision for Social Suppers is simple, we want to be able to provide delicious and nutritious food to people who are currently homeless or experiencing food poverty. We believe in meeting people’s basic needs for food and shelter, and at the same time as building positive relationships providing individuals with opportunities to make the changes they want to make in their lives. *Why we need you: To volunteer alongside Social Bite staff and a team of volunteers to provide regular hot meals and support to people affected by homelessness (on a Thursday afternoon). *What will I be doing? • Volunteering with Social Bite shop staff to prepare the shop and get food and drink set up for each evening session. • Welcoming people to the shop. Being a friendly face and talking to them about how they are doing. • Passing on information to people about how they can access services provided by our partner charities e.g. housing/benefits advice, courses, drug/alcohol support. • Cleaning and tidying up at the end of the service. *Relevant training and excellent support is provided to all volunteers. Including: • Food Hygiene training (can be done remotely through our online training portal) • Induction with a staff member • The chance to complete a trial session to see if volunteering suits you. • A training evening, where you will be shown how we run the sessions plus information about the local services that our homeless visitors can access. • One to one support from a designated staff member as and when you need it. A fantastic opportunity and all help makes a real difference for people we support and is greatly appreciated. COME JOIN OUR VOLUNTEER TEAM!! Looking for something rewarding to be involved in? Come volunteer at the Caf4e & Company Lunch Club. The Caf4e & Company Lunch Club is for older people who are wanting to meet others in the local community. It runs on Fridays, once a fortnight (12.30pm – 2.30pm) and we are looking for friendly and enthusiastic people to join our team of volunteers!! Volunteers can choose to be involved in providing transport, practical tasks (washing up, etc), or hosting tables / socialising. On the 20th March 2011 the people of Girvan celebrated the official opening of their community garden. People couldn't believe the transformation of what was once a neglected and overgrown tree nursery. Before we took over the area in 2006/07 it had lain derelict for over 30 years. We knew it had lots of potential and so we decided to ask the community what they thought of turning it into a community garden. The support was overwhelming. As you can imagine there was lots to do to get the area into a state where we could start to design and plant. We relied heavily on volunteers who are the backbone of our community garden. In July 2010 we became part of the Beechgrove Garden Community Garden’s project. They came and filmed us and helped with our design ideas. It finally felt like we were really getting somewhere. After all of the hard work it's wonderful to be able to open the garden up to so many different people. We relish the opportunity to promote gardening and other related activities particularly to those who are new gardeners and young children. We support community well-being and better health through gardening. Events held in the community garden are well attended and supported. We are currently looking for volunteer Cafe Assistants to help us on Saturdays in our Community Garden Cafe. Do you have a few free hours on Saturdays?
