Description

We are looking for a new Treasurer to join our board. This is a voluntary position for somebody committed to supporting the local community.
The role involves:
• Overseeing the financial health of the organisation
• Being observant, and willing to ask questions
• Presenting financial reports, raising issues and answering questions at regular meetings and the AGM
• Liaising with the bookkeeper or financial examiners for the annual review of accounts
• Ensuring statutory returns are made to any relevant regulators You will have the support of other trustees and our bookkeeper in the delivery of these duties. This role is to support the governance and strategic vision of the charity, not the daily operation.

Organisation aims and objectives

The provision of recreational facilities, or the organisation of recreational activities with the object of improving the conditions of life for the persons for whom the facilities or activities are primarily intended. This will be delivered from our aims, including; 4.1 The establishment of a fully inclusive, welcoming and effective Community Centre that will offer community members the opportunity to; 4.1.1 Become involved with a wider range of social, leisure and sporting activities than is available at present. 4.1.2 Socialise and learn new skills 4.1.3 Access enhanced local services in a venue that is accessible and affordable 4.1.4 Become involved in the operation of the Centre as a volunteer 4.2 Through feedback and evaluation ensure that the Centre remains focussed on the needs of the wider community

Restrictions

Experience required: Excellent numeracy skills, comfortable with numbers and looking for a way to contribute back into the community life of the South Machars. A bookkeeper or accountant or business owner with knowledge of basic accounting.
Minimum age: 18
